Based on these insights, a vision statement and objectives were formulated, and a poll (5-point Likert scale: I disagree a lot – I agree a lot) was conducted to determine agreement for the vision, objectives, meeting frequency, and governance. Results: A total of 15 members participated in the face-to-face workshop and 18 scored the vision and objectives. Thematic analysis revealed three main themes: Education, Guidelines, and Collaboration. Based on SWOT and Porter’s Five Forces analysis, a clear vision and five objectives were formulated. Complete agreement was observed for statement and objectives meeting frequency, and organisation (Figure 2). An organizational diagram outlined 1) Core group (5 members), 2) Full FG (15 members), 3) Subgroups (SG) for well-defined overarching aspects (e.g. SG Physics and Technology; SG Outreach and Education, etc.), 4) Task groups within FG for well-defined projects, and 5) Liaison with other FG and external entities. Meeting frequency, predefined agendas, and structure for starting new SG were formulated. Annual metrics will be based on a continuous log of FG and SG work. Conclusion: A consensus-driven approach was established to develop a vision, objectives and an organizational structure for a multi-professional focus group. We envision this to ensure high member engagement and a sustainable framework for collaborative work which could serve as an example strategy for the new FG entity itself.
