From the Editors: Dear Readers of our quarterly Stone Soup and Catalogue. We are pleased to include in this catalogue an exciting assortment of programs, classes, and workshops for children, adults, and families. Many of the classes are offered by Independent Contractors who are responsible for the content as well as the fees for the classes. Please contact them directly for information on registering for these programs.
RAINBOW PLAYGROUP Located in the East Room at the San Geronimo Valley Com- munity Center, Rainbow Playgroup is designed for caretakers, mothers, grandmothers, fathers, grandfathers and friends to have a safe place for their little ones (ages 0-5) to play and social- ize. This FREE playgroup happens from 9:30 am- 12:00 pm on Tuesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays from 10 am - 11:15 am, Rain- bow Playgroup is visited by the Marin County Free Library Learn- ing Bus, which offers bilingual stories and activities. MUSIC WITH DANI Parent & Child Music & Movement Music with Dani is a fun and interactive music and movement time for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their grownups. Dani has been a music teacher at several preschools in Marin County and the San Geronimo Valley for 15 years, and has also led music and movement sessions at The Fairfax Library, Bon Air Center, the Town of Fairfax, the Woodacre Improvement Club and Ross Recreation. She is also an experienced Kindermusik teacher, Gymboree Play & Music instructor and a licensed Music Together teacher. We are offering two, one week long sessions of voice, guitar, songwriting and recording instruction! Ages 8-17. All levels are welcome. This music camp will create a platform for creativity, self expression, and social connection. Whether you are a complete beginner who’s always wanted to sing, write songs, or play guitar/ukulele, or have previous expe- rience and want to take your skills to the next level, this music camp is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, improve technique, and discover your own voice as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter! This camp will take place in person at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center and the campers will have the opportunity to professionally record an original or cover song of their choice by the end of the week! The recording will be co-produced by acclaimed multi- instrumentalist and engi- neer Danny Uzilevsky and singer/songwriter/producer/ Essence Goldman. Students will need to bring a snack and a lunch each day. Summer Bridge is a school readiness program intended to sup- port your child’s transition and promote a successful start in kindergarten. The Summer Bridge dates will be Monday, June 24th-July 26th from 9am–12pm, Monday-Friday. Starting Middle School this Fall and want to be prepared?
Join us for a three-day Jump Start to Middle School , facilitated by Cory VanGelder and Lori Ramirez. This course will help you get connected to other middle school students, including eighth grade students who will be assisting and are looking forward to helping incoming students feel com- fortable and get their questions answered. We will offer tips on how to manage your time, stay organized and help you be pre- pared to have a successful start to Middle School.
