JERMA Prelepa reka Jerma probija se kroz im- pozantni kanjon sa strmim, stenovitim liticama. Ovaj trougao nesvakidašnje lepote između gradova Pirot, Dimitrov- grad i Babušnica sve je popularnija tu- ristička destinacija u jugoistočnoj Srbi- ji. Spoj nezaboravne prirode i izuzetno vrednog kulturnog nasleđa skrivenog u kanjonu učinio je ovo mesto poseb- nim. Specijalni rezervat prirode jed- na je od omiljenih destinacija ljubitelja adrenalinskih sportova i poklonika ak- tivnog odmora u Srbiji. U kanjonu Jerme i okolini evidentirano je neverovatnih 887 biljnih vrsta i pod- vrsta, od kojih su neke reliktne i veli- ke starosti. Biljni svet ovog područja či- ni 24 procenta flore Srbije, a njih 115 su na spisku zaštićenih vrsta. Životinj- ski svet ne zaostaje mnogo za biljnim. Reka Jerma (72 km) spaja dve drža- ve, izvire u Srbiji, prolazi kroz Bugarsku i opet se vraća u Srbiju formirajući im- pozantan kanjon. JERMA The beautiful River Jerma forces its way through an imposing canyon valley with sheer, rocky walls. This triangle of ra- re beauty, situated between the towns of Pirot, Dimitrovgrad and Babušnica, is one of Southeast Serbia’s increasingly popular tourist destinations. This place is made special thanks to the combi- nation of unforgettable nature and ex- tremely valuable cultural heritage that are hidden in the canyon. This special nature reserve is among the favour- ite destinations for lovers of adrenaline sports and those who enjoy active holi- days in Serbia. Incredibly, the Jerma canyon and sur- rounding areas are home to a recorded 887 species and subspecies of plants, some of which are relict and extreme- ly ancient species. The flora of this ar- ea comprises 24 per cent of all Serbi- an flora, including 115 that are listed as endangered and protected species, while its fauna doesn’t lag far behind. The Jerma (length of 72 km) connects two countries. It emerges in Serbia and passes through Bulgaria before return- ing to Serbia, forming an imposing can- yon along the way.
