OWN WORKFORCE

S1 | Working conditions: health protec- tion & occupational safety

Around 73% of the Group’s workforce is covered by the scope of the ISO 45001 certification. This comprises seven of the Zumtobel Group’s eight production sites. Sales offices and other non-production sites are not within the scope of ISO 45001 certification. Irrespective of this, Group- wide health and wellbeing programmes (‘ZG Health’) apply to all employees. These global measures have been implemented across all companies and cover 100% of the work- force. They include digital health services, information and prevention videos, and sports and exercise programmes available across the Group.

Potential negative impact on people: Potential work-related accidents, physical and mental health problems due to long-term stress.

Risk: Risk of long-term illness, high sick leave rate and high employee turnover

Policies related to the health and safety of the Group’s own workforce [S1-1]

The Zumtobel Group is committed to an active occupational health and safety policy, and therefore to complying with all appli- cable legal and statutory requirements as well as other requirements concerning its own employees’ health and safety at work. These topics are covered in the Zumtobel Group’s integrated management system (IMS). Compliance with labour law, occupa- tional safety and the protection of health is regularly reviewed by a third party at all sites as part of ISO 45001 certification. The aim of the occupational health and safety manage- ment system is to continuously improve occupational safety, prevent and reduce the number of work-related accidents and avoid potential physical and psychological stress in the Zumtobel Group. Occupational safety and the mental and physical health of emp- loyees are steadily being improved through actions tailored to their specific needs, which are described in more detail in the following section (S1-4). Management at the sites is responsible for these measures in collaboration with local occupational health and safety experts. The Zumtobel Group’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy has been approved by the Management Board, which also tracks the progress of the asso- ciated defined metrics.

Actions related to the health and safety of the Group’s own workforce [S1-4]

ZG Health

The Zumtobel Group promotes the health and well-being of its workforce as part of its commitment to reducing material impacts. The Zumtobel Group defines ‘ZG Health’, its workplace health management programme, as a combination of actions in the areas of health, skills, workplace atmosphere, leader- ship and working conditions. The establish- ment of an occupational health and safety management system in accordance with the international standard ISO 45001 and the successful external certification laid the foundation for continuously improving occu- pational health and safety at the Zumtobel Group. This involves a number of initiatives to support the physical and mental well- being of employees at all sites. Cross-plant discussions are held to discuss and analyse current topics.
