This modern, well-designed apartment block oers people on fixed, low and moderate incomes aordable housing in an excellent inner-city location. The eight-storey development comprises 113 apartments. Housing Choices retained 85 of these and sold the remaining 28 to the private market during construction. The Mariner integrates aordable and privately-owned dwellings to create diverse yet stable communities. The private sales funded the project with additional investment under the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan ($22 million) and from Housing Choices. Other project partners included the Department of Health & Human Services, MAB Corporation, VicUrban and the NAB.
