2025 RETIRING PROGRAM CHAIRS AND AUTHORS

Dror Futter created and served as Co-Chair of PLI’s Venture Capital Law program and the Blockchain Law program. Dror is the Senior Presidential Counsel of Touro University. Previously, he was a venture capital and technology partner at Rimon PC and McCarter & English. Before returning to private practice, he served as the general counsel of Vidyo, Inc. and New Venture Partners LLC. Dror serves on the Legal Advisory Council of the Angel Capital Association and was a member of its Model Convertible Promissory Note Committee. He also served on the model forms drafting committee of the National Venture Capital Association for almost 15 years.

Alex Hao has worked with PLI for over a decade, serving as Co-Chair of Doing Business in and With Emerging Markets and as Chair of Doing Business in and With China . Alex is a partner in JunHe’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Strategy Committee. He is an Arbitrator at the American Arbitration Association (AAA-ICDR) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and an Adjunct Professor at the International School of Finance of Fudan University (FISF) in Shanghai.

Randye Retkin was a Co-Chair of Ethical Issues in Pro Bono Representation from 2020 to 2023. Previously she was a speaker on the same program from 2015 to 2019, and a speaker on Limited Scope Representation in 2018 and 2019. Randye is the Director and Founder of LegalHealth, a Division of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG). Prior to joining NYLAG, she served as Director of Legal Services for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis. Randye has also served as a staff attorney with New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) where she established the VOLS Immigrants’ Rights Project. She is a founder of the New York Immigration Coalition and the National Cancer Legal Services Network. Randye is a co-author of New York State’s Standby Guardianship law and helped spearhead the expansion of the law to assist immigrant families. She is also an author of New York State’s Health- Related Legal Services law. She is a former member of the OneCityHealth Executive Committee and the New York City Bar Association Ethics Committee.
