King's Business - 1949-11

the Saviour is, indeed, good news and worth singing about. Our lips should be filled with praise because God found a way whereby He could bring His ban ished back to Himself. The Saviour came here to us that we might be born again. The Saviour brought all that we needed for salvation and satisfaction. The Good News Is God’s Gift John 15:11 All of God’s gifts are designed to make us radiant, happy Christians. In selecting human gifts, we seek to find that which will please the recipient and bring blessing to him. So in the spiritual world, God has sent His great gift, the Lord Jesus, and His wonderful gift, the Holy Spirit, and His precious gift, the Word of God. We take these gifts with thanksgiving. We offer our anthems of praise as our hearts respond in deep gratitude. We begin the song of the Lord which shall never end even through out eternity. Divine Joy Is Put Into Our Hearts by God Psa. 4:7 We live in the land of the dying but are on our way to the land of the living. The prospect is wonderful. By means of the grace of God the Holy Spirit fills our souls with that divine gladness which nothing can take from us. The world is glad when their crops increase and the prices are high. The gladness is gone when the crops fail. We have a gladness that is superior in every way and is not affected by wind nor weather. Ours is the joy that remains. This Good News Is Not Transient in Character John 14:27 The glad tidings mentioned by the an gels come as an eternal heritage from God. Our Lord does not change His mind about the value of Christ nor about the sufficiency of His sacrifice. Time does not change God’s Word in regard to His Son. God’s gospel is an everlasting gospel. It meets the need all through life. It satisfies the heart in all circumstances. It does not alter in this changing world nor in our changing lives. His grace is sufficient, His gospel is adequate always in every place. This Good News and the Joy That Accompanies It Are Essential for Soul Winning 1 Pet. 1:8 David said in Psalm 51, “ Restore un to me the joy of thy salvation . . . Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” Peter said in the New Testament, “ In whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeak able . . . Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” The happy Christian is the fruitful Christian. The glad Christian is the profitable Christian. O come, let us sing praises unto the God of heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ! N O V E M B E R , I 9 4 9
