Le jeudi 10 janvier 2019, Damien Bou- dreault-Maisonneuve, 32 ans, d’Orléans, a été arrêté et accusé de conduite avec facultés affaiblies et de conduite d’un véhi- cule automobile avec un contenant d’alcool ouvert. Vers 22 h 45, l’agent de la PPO de Hawkesbury J. Bailey menait une initiative R.I.D.E. sur les routes de comté 9 et 26 à Plantagenet, quand un Ford Escape 2017 blanc s’est arrêté au point de contrôle. L’interaction avec le conducteur a donné à l’agent des raisons de croire qu’il avait conduit son véhicule avec un taux d’alcoolé- mie supérieur à 80 mg. Par la suite, l’agent a trouvé un contenant d’alcool ouvert dans le véhicule. DEUX ARRESTATIONS POUR FACULTÉS AFFAIBLIES Two impaired driving arrests were made in Alfred-Plantagenet within the last two months. Il a par la suite été libéré et devait com- paraitre à la Cour de justice de l’Ontario, située à L’Orignal, le 13 février 2019. Le samedi 2 février 2019, vers 18 h 50, le sergent J. Hodkin de la PPO de Hawkesbury a répondu à un rapport faisant état d’un conducteur en état d’ébriété sur la route de comté 17 dans la région d’Alfred-Plan- tagenet. Le véhicule, une fourgonnette GMC Savana bleue 2013, a été localisé peu après et intercepté à 19 h, en direction ouest sur la route de comté 17, à l’entrée du village d’Alfred. Le conducteur, Richard Hern, 28 ans, de Granton (Ontario), a été arrêté et accusé de conduite avec facultés affaiblies - alcool et drogues. L’interpellation a également permis de trouver un contenant d’alcool ouvert à l’intérieur du véhicule. Le véhicule a été saisi pendant sept jours et le permis de conduire a été immédiate- ment suspendu pour une période de 90 jours. Il a par la suite été libéré et devait com- paraitre à la Cour de justice de l’Ontario, située à L’Orignal, le 20 février 2019.
ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS OF ENBRIDGE GAS INC. (FORMERLY ENBRIDGE GAS DISTRIBUTION INC. AND UNION GAS LIMITED)
Enbridge Gas Inc. has applied to raise its natural gas rates effective April 1, 2019 to recover costs associated with the Federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act. Learn more. Have your say. The Ontario Energy Board approved the amalgamation of Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. and Union Gas Limited in August 2018. The companies have amalgamated to form Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas). Enbridge Gas has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to increase rates to recover costs associated with meeting its obligations under the Federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (Act). The Act establishes a carbon pricing program under which Enbridge Gas is required to pay a carbon charge to the federal government for volumes of natural gas that Enbridge Gas delivers to customers starting April 1, 2019. The Act also imposes other obligations on Enbridge Gas related to emissions from the operation of its natural gas distribution system starting January 1, 2019. If the application is approved as filed, the bill of a typical residential customer within the former Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. and Union Gas Limited rate zones will increase by the following amounts per year: Rate Zone Residential Annual Bill Increase Enbridge Gas $93.93 Union South $86.21 Union North $86.18 Other customers, including small businesses, would also be affected. THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) will hold a public hearing to consider Enbridge Gas’ request. We will also hear questions and arguments from individual customers and from groups that represent Enbridge Gas’ customers. At the end of this hearing, the OEB will decide what rate change will be allowed. The OEB is an independent and impartial public agency. We make decisions that serve the public interest. Our goal is to promote a financially viable and efficient energy sector that provides you with reliable energy services at a reasonable cost. BE INFORMED AND HAVE YOUR SAY You have the right to information regarding this application and to be involved in the process. • You can review Enbridge Gas’ application on the OEB’s website now. • You can file a letter with your comments, which will be considered during the hearing. • You can become an active participant (called an intervenor).
