American Consequences - December 2020

FROM OUR INBOX

for a cold or flu? I guess that is what it seems like we are going to do. At what point do people say enough lies about this virus? One note on how you ensure that people have the vaccine... doesn’t it seem like a step toward what the Bible predicted 2,000 years ago? “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” I’mnot trying to say this is themark of the beast as talked about in the Bible, but arewe really that far away from it? It seems that we are not. Thanks for doingwhat you do! – Chris P In virtually 100% of the talking points, whether from a scientific, moral, or legal and Constitutional angle, there is no mention of the hundreds of thousands of Americans that have recovered from Covid and are considered immune, and even less mention of those of us that have a neurological issue that would prohibit access to vaccinations, especially if those already recovered from Covid. Is it an Anti-government or anti- the “Scientist” posture that considering less than 5% of those which have been listed as “cases” have succumbed to the virus, whether solely or in combination or association with other health or accidental factors? Or, is it a taboo to admit publicly that more than 95% of the cases known are not listed as fatalities?

I have appreciated your coverage of the lockdown actions: It’s a breath of fresh air (pun intended – maskless breath!) to hear of sheriffs unwilling to go statist and uphold tyrannical governors’ orders. It would be inspiring to me for you to also cover the statist actions directed at people of faith, and the double standard of some governors in leaving big box stores open (while small businesses are shuttered) and allowing mass protestors (both peaceful and not so) and casinos to continue but not worship services. Thank you for standing for liberty, – Penni B. Jason Rantz Comment: I’m honestly not in love with language around tyranny, etc. since we have institutions in place that allow for much of the mandates, however ill-informed or backwards they may be. (And not all the mandates fall into that category, by the way.) The courts weigh in and there have been some wins and losses. But you’re right to point to the double standard. If you’re going to do shutdowns that are not evenly applied, we should be leaning into protecting our constitutional rights over shopping at the Best Buy. Re: Are You Going to Get the Needle? Scary that this is where we are. I feel like Kim missed a couple things. I know he was trying to keep it simple, but the reality is that the truth of Covid is not nearly as bad as it has been made out to seem. So, are we really going to push a potentially dangerous vaccine
