Dajah Robinson - “Reducing Recidivism Rates through Revising Prison Education Systems” (poster session) This presentation will be about the lack of preparation that prisons give to the incarcerated to prepare them for the social dynamics they will be re-introduced to after incarceration. Societal norms like conflict resolution, financial literacy and education are a necessity for someone to become a functioning member of society. After living in an incarcerated society one may become uncomfortable with social interactions outside of imprisonment. This presentation will talk about things that prison systems can do to help ease recidivism rates due to lack of preparation. I will be summarizing research that has already been done whilst also proposing a program with the intent to decrease these issues.
