2023 Year in Review – TPT Learn

Focused on serving our local community and inspiring life-long learning, TPT Learn provides media-enriched and standards-aligned educational resources, training, and programming.

TPT Learn aims to address systemic barriers and educational inequities through community-based programming and initiatives, including: TPT Little Learners (pre-K-2): Little Learners provides training and resources to early childhood educators to help them integrate enriching PBS Kids content into preschools, daycares, and community- based programs across Minnesota. TPT Learn Academies (Grades 3-8): Embedded into Beacon’s Clubs, YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Saint Paul Public Schools, TPT Learn Academies provides resources around science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), media-making, music, and social emotional learning. Learn Academies engaged educators, children, and families with PBS resources and doubled the number of afterschool spaces served to 26 sites across the Twin Cities metro area.

Surveys of program participants found: • Over 90% of youth increased knowledge acquisition, self-efficacy, and appetite for further learning around STEM. • Over 95% of adults increased knowledge acquisition, self-efficacy, and appetite for further learning around STEM instruction. Code.org: With the goal of preparing and expanding Minnesota’s technology workforce, TPT trained formal K-12 educators to integrate computer science learning into their classrooms. TPT Family Fun: To prevent summer learning loss, TPT partnered with MELSA libraries and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to provide educational experiences within the community.
