Voice Mail : With this option, you can have either line answered at any time. Check with your phone company to evaluate the services they offer. Some phone companies are now offering more than one message—so you could have one for working hours and one for after hours and weekends. The call center also offers a free voice mail option. Cell Phones : Many owners use cell phones to communicate with their staff while they are out of the office. You may consider this option for yourself, however, there are several important considerations. The first and foremost consideration is driving safety. Automobile accidents are continuing to increase when a driver has been distracted from driving because they are talking on their cell phone. If you consider using a cell phone in your business, please do not use it while you are driving. 1.15 Getting Set Up on Email Email is an important avenue of communication at MOLLY MAID. At the home office, we use email to pass on important information updates to our franchise owners. As an added convenience, we have also made emailing royalty reports part of our easy reporting system. In addition, many of your customers will appreciate the convenience of contacting you by email. You will have a @mollymaid.com email address. The corporate standard for email (first.last@mollymaid.com) will be assigned to you. You will need to have Internet service in your office to take advantage of this. If you choose not to have a @MollyMaid.com address, review your ideas for your email address with your New Business Manager. We do not recommend AOL due to size limitations and spam filtering difficulties . 1.16 Investigate and Develop Employee Recruitment Resources Now that many of the logistical details of planning your business launch have been completed, you can focus on another vital area that will affect your ability to grow your business. It is important to develop your strategy now and lay the groundwork for your employee recruitment process. You will have greater success in recruiting the right number of employees to grow the business if you develop MANY sources for potential applicants. Do not count on any “one” source for applicants, rather cultivate and use as many as possible. As you develop your recruiting plan, refer to your demographic information. This may be helpful in pinpointing areas where your employees may live. This is an important piece in your employee recruiting strategy, as you will target these areas directly in your recruiting efforts. 1.16.1 Employee Referrals The best source for finding new employees will be your existing employee base. Employees will pre-screen and then refer people who reflect favorably upon themselves and have
