What Saith the Scripture? “Into the second went the High Priest alone, not without BLOOD” (Heb. 9:7) for almost all things are by the law purged with BLOOD, and without the shedding of BLOOD there is no:remission,” (Heb. 9:22). “Neither by the BLOOD of goats and calves, but by His own BLOOD he entered into the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Heb. 9 :12 ). “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, . . . sprinkling the unclean, sanctified to the purification of the flesh; how much more shall the BLOOD of Christ . . . purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Heb. 9:13, Cf. 1 Pet. 1 :2 ). “Neither was the first covenant dedicated without BLOOD, for . . . 'Moses . . . took the BLOOD . . . and sprinkled both the book and the people, saying: “This is the BLOOD of the Covenant,” etc. (Heb. 9:19-20) Cf. Matt. 26-28, Mark 14:24. “Moreover he sprinkled with BLOOD both the tabernacle and all the vessels of service” (Heb. 9:21). “Jesus, that He might sanctify the people with His own BLOOD, suffered without the gate (Heb. 13:12). “Having therefore boldness to enter into the Holiest by the BLOOD of Jesus, (Heb. 10:19 ). . . “Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant, and the BLOOD of sprinkling which speaketh better things than that of Abel” (Heb. 12:24). “Through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience, and sprinkling of the BLOOD.of Jesus” (1 Pet. 1 :2 ). “The cup which we bless, is it not the communion of the BLOOD of Christ?” (1 Cor. 10:16 ). “Who have trodden under foot the Son of God, and counted an unholy thing the BLOOD of the Covenant”- (Heb. 10:29). “The BLOOD of the New Covenant, which is shed for many” (Mark 14:24 ). "The BLOOD of the Everlasting Covenant, (Heb. 13:20). “Now in Christ Jesus, you who sometimes were afar off, are made nigh, by the BLOOD of Christ, (Eph. 2:13) whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His BLOOD, for the remission of sins that are past” (Rom. 3 :25 ). “In Whom we have redemption, through His BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins,” (Eph. 1:17, repeated in Col. 1 :14 ). “Much more now, being justified by His BLOOD, shall we be saved from wrath through Him” (Rom. 5 :9 ). “The Church of God which He purchased with His own BLOOD, (Acts 20:28 ). “Redeemed, not with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, but with the precious BLOOD of Christ” (1 Pet. 1:19). “The BLOOD of Jesus Christ His Son, cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1 :7 ). “These are they who have washed their robes, and made them white in the BLOOD of the Lamb (Rev. 7 :14 ). .“They overcame him by the BLOOD of the Lamb (Rev. 12:11). “And they sung a new song,— ‘Thou art worthy . . . for thou hast redeemed us to God by thy BLOOD (Rev. 5 :9 ). “Unto Him who loved us, and washed (loosed) us from our sins in His own BLOOD,— to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen!” (Rev. 1:5, 6*). “He was clothed in a vesture dipped in BLOOD; and His name was called ‘The Word of God’ ” (Rev. 19:3 cf. John 1:1.). “Verily, verily I say unto you: Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his BLOOD, ye have no life
in you. . . Whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my BLOOD, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. . . for my flesh is meat indeed, and my BLOOD is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my BLOOD dwelleth (menei)— (abideth) in me and I in him” (John 6:53-56 C f.l5 :5 ). “Many of His disciples, when they heard this, said: “This is an hard saying, who can hear it? and from that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him” (John 6:60, 66).
