Team Cornwall a récemment décerné plusieurs bourses aux étudiants d’écoles secondaires locales. Phillippe Lalonde (La Citadelle), Kisa Lanctot (Saint-Joseph) et Kiran Hashmi (CCVS) ont reçu le prix Cornwall Youth Award, en reconnaissance de leurs réalisations volontaires en appui à la communauté de Cornwall. «Ils ont tous été exceptionnels, a souligné Peter Gault, président de Team Cornwall. Nous avons sélectionné trois des meilleurs, mais toutes les applications que nous avons reçues étaient très impressionnantes.» Les bourses sont d’une valeur de 1500 $ chacune et sont financées par Kawartha Credit Union. De plus, Team Cornwall a décerné sept autres bourses de 400 $ à sept autres élèves : Hali Flaro King (St. Matthew), Emilie Contant (La Citadelle), Philippe St-Arnaud (L’Héritage), Marissa Forrester (Saint- Laurent), Sarah Konink (Saint-Joseph), Madison McLeod (Holy-Trinity), et Armelle Hunt (CCVS). Recently, the St. Joseph Catholic school’s student council organized their first ever Panther Beach Day! Students were rewarded for their hard work with an outing to the Charlottenburg beach for the entire day. There was music, swimming and activities for everyone as well as a free lunch.
