Service to Shell Point Wanda’s connection to Shell Point began even before she joined the board. She spent 15 years as general counsel for The Orchard Foundation, then the financial and charitable services ministry of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. The organization maintained an office at Shell Point and worked with residents on charitable gift annuities, estate plans, donor-advised funds, and other forms of planned giving. That relationship eventually led former Shell Point President Peter Dys (Estuary) to invite Wanda to join Shell Point’s Board of Directors, where she has served for nearly 20 years. She later joined the Legacy Foundation
Originally from Queens, New York, Wanda Anderson earned a Juris Doctor degree from Regent University School of Law, and her career has included nonprofit governance, risk management, cor- porate law, and executive leadership. Wanda joined The Navigators in 2016, and she now serves as general counsel and senior vice president of Governance, People & Culture. Along with serving on Shell Point’s board, she also shares her expertise with several nonprofit governing boards. Her experience spans church ministry, community develop- ment, and global disciple-making, reflecting her belief that God continues to call people to meaningful work throughout their lives.
Board and has served as its chair for the past four years. Shell Point’s volunteer board members bring a collective faith, knowledge, and ex- perience that reflect our mission. Together, they guide Shell Point’s strategic direction and long-term goals. Wanda shared that over the years, she has watched ideas move from conversation to construction and seen the power of generosity take visible form across our community as goals were achieved. “The greatest thing I’ve experienced while serving on both boards has been see- ing God’s hand at work as He does amazing things through visionary leadership and the generosity of His people,” she said.
