Some concerts are memorable because of the music. Others stay with us because of who we were with, where we were in life, or the adventure of getting there. We asked our team to share favorite concert memories. For Hannah, it was seeing Hozier at the LC Pavilion in 2015. The drive to Columbus, his album on repeat, and hearing his mic check before the show made the night unforgettable. Carrie’s first concert was Petra , the Christian rock band formed in the 1970s. She saw them in the 1990s and even got her picture taken with a few band members. She remembers being beyond excited. Barb’s first concert was Styx in 1981. She remembers taking a walk with her aunt the next day and talking her ear off about every detail. Kristin’s favorite concert memory was a weekend music festival in the early 2000s. While Joan Jett, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Loverboy took the stage, she remembers the friendships, camping, and unforgettable adventure most. Alyssa’s favorite concert was Morgan Wallen at Ohio State two summers ago. She described it as the best concert she has ever attended, with unforgettable energy.
Beth’s first concert was Journey’s 1980 Departure Tour in Cincinnati, with The Babys as the opening act. Tickets were only about $7–$9, which probably felt like a lot at the time, but she says it was worth every penny. Brilynn’s favorite concert memory was meeting Cole Swindell at Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour. During his performance, he took her phone and snapped a photo of himself with the crowd, a great souvenir.

Stephanie Hunt’s first concert was The Turnpike Troubadours last September, where she enjoyed a front-row spot just feet from the stage. Melanie’s favorite concert memory was seeing Maroon 5 at Blossom in August 2021, right as live music was returning after the pandemic shutdown. She also gives an honorable mention to the Fall Out Boy concert in Columbus in March 2024. Rachel’s first concert was seeing the Spice Girls in Columbus in 1998 with her mom at age 5. Hearing “Wannabe” live and cheering for her favorite, Baby Spice, made it a core childhood memory. Attorney Stephanie Mehle’s favorite concert memory is seeing Blink-182 and Gwen Stefani at her first-ever concert with her family. She remembers feeling so grown up.
