The Prescott- Russell Amateur Radio Club (PRARC) hosts its annual Field Day event June 22 at Confederation Park in Hawkesbury. ARC members will be on air starting at 2 p.m., Saturday, connecting with other amateur radio operators in a 24-hour shortwave chat across North America, until 2 p.m. Sunday. Members will also be on site to talk to visitors about the history of amateur radio. – Gregg Chamberlain CHAMPION ROADEO DRIVER Champlain Township has one of the best truck drivers in all of Eastern Ontario working for the municipality. Eric Sauvé, of the township public works depart- ment, took first place in the Eastern Ontario Road Supervisors Association Annual Municipal Truck Roadeo in Cornwall, May 22. He has a standing invitation to compete now in the Provin- cial Safety Truck Roadeo in Laurentian Valley in September.
