Calculating Trailer Heights
All Trailers are fitted with a decal indicating the overall height. This measurement is the height of the body when coupled with a tractor unit fifth wheel height of 1250mm (491/2 inchec) the standard height of a fifth wheel.
The overall height for the trailer is 13ft 10ins (4m 21cm) this is based on a fifth wheel height of 49½in (1250mm).
Ensure you always know the correct height of your vehicle before moving off to avoid the possibility of “BRIDGE BASHING”. This is highly dangerous and only occurs when a driver fails to observe the height of a bridge or is unaware of the height of a vehicle.
