We’re proud of our history and we’re focused on making tomorrow’s Tasmania possible. Right now, we’re undertaking a once in a generation development. As a privately owned airport, we are funding a major terminal redevelopment that will increase capacity, enhance passenger amenity and support the future growth of air services to and from Tasmania. Recent developments have included expanded seating, more choice for travellers to dine and shop, a new baggage reclaim hall and enhanced arrivals facilities, which will ultimately double the airport’s terminal footprint. Beyond the terminal, investment across the airport precinct is supporting new opportunities for business, employment and economic activity. Recent infrastructure improvements, including the completion of the upgraded runway, strengthen Hobart Airport’s ability to support future growth in tourism, trade and Antarctic-related operations. The runway upgrade enables a broader range of passenger and freight aircraft to operate from Hobart, enhancing connectivity and access to domestic and international markets. These investments reflect the airport’s ongoing role in supporting Tasmania’s connectivity and economic activity. As demand for travel continues to evolve, investment in infrastructure and facilities will help ensure the airport is well placed to meet
future needs and support the movement of passengers and freight for years to come. As we celebrate 70 years, we also recognise the many people who have contributed to the airport’s success, including employees, airline partners, contractors, government agencies, businesses and the wider Tasmanian community. Their contributions have helped shape Hobart Airport into the gateway it is today. Seventy years ago, Hobart Airport opened its doors with a vision to connect Tasmania to the world. Today, that vision remains as relevant as ever. As we look ahead, we are excited about the opportunities the future holds and the role Hobart Airport will continue to play in connecting Tasmania for decades to come.
