company, BPGS Construc- tion is thrilled to announce the topping out of 627 MKT, located on Market St. in Down- townWilmington. The building is a part of a larger-scale proj- ect which includes the develop- ment of 608MKT containing 28 apartment units and 3,000 s/f of retail space, both of which are being developed for the Buccini/Pollin Group . Most recently occupied by Delaware State University, totaling 47,636 s/f, 627 MKT originally was comprised of five structures of varying age, height, floor levels and con- struction type that have pre- viously been combined into a unified structure. These project obstacles were met with enthu- siasm by the BPGS Construc- tion team and the architects at Blackney Hayes . “After completing such chal- lenging projects in this historic district such as The Queen Theater and the renovation of 421 North Market St., we have gained the experience necessary to convert, upgrade and modify these outdated, but significant buildings success- fully. Our award-winning track record for these complex proj- ects is what excites us to take on the challenge and exceed the expectations of the client,” said Cole Flickinger , senior VP of BPGS Construction. In the same block, 608 MKT is the first ground-up residen- tial project on Market St. in over 50 years. n MOORESTOWN, NJ — The New Jersey chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NJ) an- nounced that Steven Laza- rus, AIA , will serve as the organization’s 2015 treasurer.
