La Journée du bénévolat, qui se tenait au Centre communautaire d’Embrun le 17 octobre, a accueilli 14 associations qui étaient présentes pour mieux se faire connaître auprès de la population mais aussi auprès des gens qui désirent faire du bénévolat. L’organisatrice, Véronique Bernard, responsable de l’événement pour laMunicipalité de Russell, a souligné que c’était une première et qu’il est normal que les gens aient été un peu plus timides cette année. « Nous avons organisé notre journée en même temps que l’ouverture du Tigre Géant. L’an prochain, nous reviendrons avec certaines modi"cations et nous ajouterons cependant quelques tables. » Lemaire Pierre Leroux était également sur place une partie de la journée. Parks master plan Russell Township council has received the final report on the updated Parks and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP) for the municipality. The 140-page report, available as part of the Oct. 5 council session agenda, outlines the community’s existing parks and recreation facilities and programs, possible priority lists for upgrades of existing facilities along with suggestions for priorities for new facilities and programs based on past and present public input on recreation needs and wants. The report also details how the PRMP will work in concert with the township’s strategic mana- gement plan priorities. – Gregg Chamberlain
