Les Hawks de Hawkesbury ont été éli- minés des séries éliminatoires par les Nats de Rockland, après une défaite de 5-1, le lundi 25 mars. Les Nats de Rockland ont vaincu les Hawks de Hawkesbury, le vendredi 22 mars dernier, gagnant 8-3 à domicile. Patrick Johnston a donné l’avance 1-0 aux Hawks au début de la première période, mais les Nats sont ensuite revenus en feu. Drew Shields et Cameron Scrivens ont chacun marqué pour Rockland en première période. Matthew Vermaetan et Cameron Last ont augmenté l’avance des Nats avec chacun un but au début de la deuxième période. Jeremie Lavallée a marqué pour les Hawks, ramenant le score à 4-2 pour les Nats, mais Jean-Sylvain Boyer et Gunnar Smith ont eu le dernier mot avec leurs buts à la fin de la deuxième. Les Nats menaient 6-2 en début de troisième période. Luke Grainger a donné de l’espoir aux Hawks avec son but dès la première minute de jeu, mais Vermaeten et Last ont chacun marqué leur deuxième but de la soirée, solidifiant la victoire pour les Nats. Cette victoire a permis aux Nats de mener la série 3-0. Le soir suivant, le samedi 23 mars, les Hawks ont remporté une victoire nécessaire

Les Hawks n’ont pas ralenti en deuxième – Grainger a marqué son deuxième de la soirée à la fin de la période, donnant une solide avance de 3-0 aux Hawks. Jeremie Lavallée a donc encore assuré la victoire des Hawks avec son but au début de
la troisième. Jack Sullivan a ensuite marqué un but en avantage numérique pour les Nats à 12 :33 de la troisième, mais c’était trop tard pour l’équipe de Rockland. Les Hawks ont remporté le match 4-1. Bien que les Hawks aient gardé espoir à la suite de leur dernière victoire, portant la série à 3-1, l’équipe de Hawkesbury a néanmoins été éliminée lundi, après une
défaite de 5-1. Matthew Vermaeten, Benjamin Pruneau, Cole Craft, David Lafrance et Josh Norman ont chacun marqué un but pour les Nats. Jeremie Lavallée a marqué le seul but des Hawks. Les Nats ont pu célébrer cette victoire chez eux à Rockland. Ils avanceront à la prochaine ronde des séries éliminatoires.

The Vankleek Hill Cougars need just one more win against the Clarence Creek Castors to claim the National Capital Junior Hockey League championship title. The Cougars have beaten the Castors three times so far in the league playoffs series, with scores of 4-3, 3-2, and 4-0. The last game saw the Castors skunked on their own ice Sunday afternoon, over the March 23 weekend. Last Friday evening’s series opener in Clarence Creek saw the Cougars dominate first and second periods with two goals each. The Castors scored a single point in first period then rallied in third with two unanswered goals, but could not get a fourth point to force the game into overtime. Scoring singles for the Cougars were Ryan Allen, Nikolas Ayotte, Justin Labrosse, and Jonathan Leblanc. Assisting on the goals were Nicolas Castonguay, Jonathan Lacroix, Zacharie Leblanc, Zakary Phaneuf, and Danny Plourde-Grenon, with Alexander Labrèche guarding the net. Saturday evening at the Vankleek Hill Arena saw both teams fail to score during first period. The Cougars punched in their goals during the second and third while the Castors didn’t get on the scoreboard until the final period. Scoring for the Cougars were Ryan Allen, Tyler Dopelhamer, and Zacharie Leblanc. Assisting on the goals were Allen, Nicolas Castonguay, Trystan Lavoie,

Sunday afternoon saw Jonathan Lacroix punch in two goals for the Cougars while Ryan Allen and Nikolas Ayotte each scored singles and helped out on other goals. Other goal assists came from Hugo Blanchard, Nicolas Castonguay, Zakary Phaneuf, and Danny Plourde-Grenon, while Frederick Duro- cher guarded the net. Next game in the series is Saturday night, March 30, at the Vankleek Hill Arena. If needed, a fifth game will take place the following Sunday evening in Clarence Creek. Les Cougars de Vankleek Hill ont battu les Castors de Clarence Creek à trois reprises jusqu’à présent dans la série éliminatoire.
