Describe the importance of ensuring alignment between operator, contractor and external stakeholders when applicable
Facilitate group discussion on the means of alignment, e.g. toolbox talk
Provide a practical demonstration of alignment e.g. lift plan, signals, radio communication etc.
Note: This is repetition of theory to be applied in feedback on exercises with human performance in focus.
The participant shall:
Engage in discussions on roles and responsibilities as well as on how to align and interact with other roles Discuss factors that can challenge roles and responsibilities e.g. hand over, language, equipment knowledge, lack of toolbox talks etc.
TOOLBOX TALK
Learning objectives:
The participant can take responsibility for ensuring the ongoing mitigation of work risks covered in the toolbox talk (Ability, basic level) The participant can take responsibility for using correct hand signals and slinging techniques and to verify hand signals with crane operator during toolbox talk (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Describe the concept of toolbox talk, including that the activity is open for raising concerns and learnings Explain what topics are generally discussed at the toolbox talk and their relevance for the slinger signaller e.g. change in weather, individual assignments, point of work risk assessment
Facilitate a toolbox talk exercise
The participants shall:
Participate in a toolbox talk exercise
Discuss what the key takeaways and responsibilities from the toolbox talk is for a slinger signaller
HAND/RADIO SIGNALS
Learning objective:
The participant can take responsibility to, on their own, direct the crane in different scenarios by hand or radio signals (Ability, intermediate level)
