UNDERGRADUATE YEARS: Upon en- tering Hampton Institute in the 1965, Brother Croom majored in Architec- ture but later changed to Mechanical Engineering Technology, he joined the Army’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) where he was a member of Scabbard & Blade and commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation. He served the Beta Chi Chapter as Strategus and Assistant Keeper of Re- cords. Also, he was Vice President of the Sophomore Class, President of the Junior Class, an engineer at the radio station (WHOV-FM), and Commis- sioner of the Men’s Intramural Sports Program. ALUMNI YEARS: From 1970 to pres- ent, Brother Croom held membership in the Petersburg (VA) and Fredericks- burg (VA) Alumni Chapters. Also, he is a Charter Member of Fort Lee (VA) and Woodbridge (VA) Alumni Chap- ters where he currently holds mem- bership. He served as Polemarch, Vice Polemarch, and member of the Board of Directors, Guide Right Committee Chairman, Bylaws Committee Chair- man, Pan Hellenic Council Represen- tative and on numerous committees. He is Eastern Province Life Member #4, served as the 19th Eastern Prov- ince Polemarch, Province Senior Vice Polemarch, Board of Directors, Budget Committee, Bylaws Committee Chair- man, and Province Council Planning Committee. At the Grand Chapter level, he is Life Member #2805-78, a Super Builder, and Century Club Awardee. Brother Croom served as the fraternity’s 10 th Grand Keeper of Records and Exchequer, President, Secretary, Board Member and Board

Member Emeritus – Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Kappa Alpha Psi Execu- tive Committee, Council of Province Polemarchs, Constitution and Stat- utes Committee, Director of Internal Controls, Financial Advisory Commit- tee, Membership Board, Automation Committee, Irven Armstrong Fund Contributor, Legal Defense Fund Contributor, Kamp Kappa Contributor, Kappa Kamp Contributor, and iKare Contributor. He is the President of the SIX, INC. Brother Croom is the 94 th recipient of the Elder Watson Diggs Award. He was also awarded the Pillar of the Eastern Province Award, Chapter Polemarch’s Awards, Brother of the Year Awards, and other Fraternity Service Awards. PROFESSIONAL YEARS: Brother Croom served his country as a United States Army Officer and Department of the Army Civilian. After commis- sioning as a second lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers he served three years of active duty and twenty- seven years in the Army Reserves as an engineer, retiring at the rank of Colonel. His civilian career was in the field of logistics, beginning as a Supply Systems Analyst (Instructor) and retiring as the Assistant Deputy for Integrated Logistics Support in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology). EMERSON LATTIMORE BORN: 1941 – Marshall, TX WIDOWED: One Son, Kappa, Byron Lattimore INITIATED: 1960 – The Bishop College Chapter, the Delta Sigma of Kappa Alpha Psi (SW) EDUCATION: B.S., Bishop College 1963; M.P.A., the University of North Texas 1980 PROFESSION: HS Teacher, 3 Years: Federal Employment, 44 Years UNDERGRADUATE YEARS: Brother Lattimore served as Keeper of Records and Polemarch Delta Sigma Chapter. Following his Junior Year at Bishop College, Brother Lattimore attended

the 2nd National Undergraduate Leadership (now called the C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference) held on the campus of Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. This was a great con- ference for Brother Lattimore, enhanc- ing his understanding of Kappa Alpha Psi, including her History, Protocol and Traditions. ALUMNI YEARS: Brother Lattimore has been a member of the Marshall (TX) and Dallas (TX) Alumni Chapters respectively since 1964. Brother Lat- timore served as Keeper of Records, Sr. Province Polemarch, Polemarch Southwestern Province: Grand Board of Directors 1995-1999; Chief of Staff to 31 st Grand Polemarch 2007-2011: Chairman, Achievement Commission, 2015-2019, 33rd Grand Polemarch; Vice-Chairman, the SIX Incorporated: Numerous Dallas (TX) Alumni Chapter Awards. Brother Lattimore is the 81st recipient of the Elder Watson Diggs Award. Brother Lattimore is a Life Member at three levels of Kappa—the Dallas (TX) Alumni Chapter, the Southwest- ern Province, and Kappa Alpha Psi on the National Level. Brother Lattimore is also Secretary of the chapter’s 501(c)3 non-profit GUIDE RIGHT FOUNDATION OF DALLAS, INC. He was a founding/ charter member of the Foundation in 1984, serving as the first Chair- man of the Board, and since then, serving as Secretary of the Board for over 20 years. Brother Lattimore has participated in over 90% of the Kappa Kamps held at Piney Woods School in Mississippi and at Paul Quinn College in Dallas. Brother Lattimore is proud that his son, Byron, has mimicked his career in Kappa in some significant ways. Both Lattimores have served as Polemarch of the Dallas (TX) Alumni Chapter and Brother Byron Lattimore now serves as Chairman of the GUIDE RIGHT FOUNDATION OF DALLAS, INC. with Brother Emerson Lattimore serv- ing as Secretary. PROFESSIONAL YEARS: Brother Lat- timore’s first job after college was as a Teacher at his high school alma mater, Pemberton High School, in Marshall,
