University in New Orleans, LA where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in mathematics in 1970. While a student at Dillard, he was a 1967 initiate of the Dillard University Chapter, the Beta Gamma of Kappa Alpha Psi®. Brother LaMothe was affiliated with the Kansas City (MO) Alumni Chapter where he served as polemarch from 1979 to 1981. In 1970, LaMothe was recruited from Dillard University to the Teacher Core Program Teaching Math to students in the Des Moines, IA public school sys- tem. This program provided a fully paid scholarship for which he successfully completed a master’s degree from Drake University in 1972. Upon graduation, LaMothe was offered a job as a Systems Analyst for IBM in Kansas City, MO. He was one of the few African Ameri- cans hired at that time in his field. Over his 33-year career, he had many roles and received numerous promotions and recognition, however he was most proud of his ability to hire and advo- cate fairness on behalf of other African American Employees. As a Managing Principal, he managed support engineers for his biggest account, Walmart® for which he was best known for the roll out and support of the Point of Sale System for Walmart ® based out of Bentonville, AR. Much of this implementation is used in Walmart stores across the na- tion. He loved his family. He enjoyed taking road trips to his hometown of New Orleans. He was a Mathematics genius, intelligent and had a charismatic laugh. He had a passion for music, singing, hosting family and friends and cooking his native foods. He was an avid recre- ational player of Dominos, Pinochle and Darts. Most importantly he enjoyed be- ing surrounded by family, his Fraternity brothers and Friends. life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Frater- nity, Inc. He received his 50 year pin and certificate on May 7, 2016. Ladale was a member of the Anniston Piedmont Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity where he served a Scholarship Chair. Jones was very active in the St. Clair County Democrat Party and served as president in 1995. He was a member of the Alabama Democratic Conference; the Tennessee State Alumni Association; Life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and served as local president for four years, State vice president and district leader, and district legislative represen- tative; a member of the ACLU; and a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He received certificates, plaques and other memorabilia from charitable and civic groups for outstanding service as a leader and volunteer. He was an amazing and remarkable individual, a very warm and caring hu- man being who radiated a special qual- ity. Ladle has loved, inspired, shaped and impacted the lives of everyone he encountered. Ladale Jones, Sr. is survived by his lov- ing wife, Thelma Jones.

William "Bill" Wesley Lawrence,

1983) entered the Chapter Invisible on December 7, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born January 27, 1939

in Chadbourn, N.C. to the late Hor- ace and Mary Brinkley Lawrence. He was the 10th child of 15 children. His parents, 8 brothers and sisters, and one son, Ronnie Dean Dowdy, preceded him in death. His love for education began in the Co- lumbus County School System in Chad- bourn where he graduated from West- side High School in 1957. As a skilled farmer, for many of his peers that would have been the transition to the work world, however, he was driven to higher education initially pursuing a degree in Chemistry from North Carolina College. After working for a short period of time, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served our country at Madigan Gen- eral Hospital in Tacoma, Washington as a Medical Technologist, ultimately pursuing and receiving certification. With her support, he continued his drive for education pursuing a Masters in Counseling Psychology from North Carolina Central University while also working fulltime as a Chemist at Liggett & Myers and shortly thereafter, made the decision to pursue his Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from the Uni- versity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill which he received in 1974.

LaMothe was born on January 22, 1948 in New Orleans, LA to parents, Norman B LaMothe Sr and Ruth LaMothe. He was raised in a Christian home with strong spiritual beliefs and morals as a child.
