Chantal Labelle (à droite), de la Caisse populaire d’Alfred, a profité du récent souper de lasagne des Scouts du 58 e Groupe pour remettre un chèque de 250 $ au nom de l’institution financière à Chantal Séguin, présidente du 58 e Groupe scout (à gauche) ainsi qu’à des membres des scouts. C’est aussi au cours de cette soirée qu’ont eu lieu les tirages de la loterie annuelle de ce groupe scout. Véronique Piché d’Alfred a gagné le premier prix, soit un voyage dans le sud d’une valeur de 2500 $. Marie Leduc de Curran a remporté le deuxième prix, soit une fin de semaine dans les Laurentides d’une valeur de 500 $. Annulation de la Coupe d’Argenteuil 2017 La Fondation de l’Hôpital d’Argenteuil a annoncé l’annulation de la Coupe d’Argenteuil, qui devait avoir lieu du 7 au 9 avril prochain à l’aréna Gilles Lupien de Brownsburg-Chatham. L’annulation est attribuable à une situation hors du contrôle de la fondation, qui s’est vue dans l’obligation d’annuler son association à cette activité. – Kristina Servant The 50 Million Tree Program plants for landowners who want to make their prop- ertymore aesthetically pleasing, for farmers who have an idle field or want a windbreak, and for golf course owners who want to add some shade. Every landowner has a different vision so the planting agents work with them to make sure that vision becomes a reality. The 50 Million Tree Program aims at making tree planting as easy as possible for landowners in Ontario. Spring is for new ideas. For anyone who has idle land or extra acreage that could be enhanced, planting trees has proven an excellent way to add value to property. Doing so has just become easier. Land- owners of 2.5 acres or more of open land may now be eligible for the 50 Million Tree Program. For landowners considering a large-scale planting on their property, the 50 Million Tree Program can help by providing both funding support to cover a significant por- tion, at least up to 80 percent, of the total planting costs and technical assistance. A local planting partner will work to develop a site plan that suits the property’s unique needs.They will do the planting and conduct follow up assessments in subsequent years.
