$132,000 for Russell and Casselman infrastuctures
AGA de l’ACFO L’ACFO de Prescott et Russell tiendra son Assem- blée générale annuelle (AGA) le mardi 27 juin, à l’amphithéâtre de l’École secondaire catho- lique de Plantagenet, située au 6150, chemin de Comté 17 à Plantagenet. L’accueil se fera à compter de 18 h et l’assemblée débutera à 18 h 30. Plusieurs projets ont été complétés alors que d’autres sont en planification. L’ACFO présentera son rapport pour l’année 2016- 2017 ainsi que les projets prévus pour l’année en cours, 2017-2018. De plus, les membres présents pourront participer à la consultation du plan stratégique 2017-2020. Tous sont invités à participer à cette rencontre. More than 730 projects were approved under both RFAs.These projects will upgrade com- munity facilities that Canadians can enjoy, such as community centers, cultural centers, trails and parks. They will also help to leave a lasting legacy in celebration of the 150 th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.

The 150 th anniversary of Confederation gives us the opportunity to celebrate the places that unite us in our communities and bring us into contact with the greatness of our magnificent country. OnMay 26, Francis Drouin, MP, on behalf of the Honorable Navdeep Bains, Minis- ter of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, announced that the mu- nicipalities of Casselman and Russell will receive funding for upgrades to the outdoor rink at Richelieu Park in Casselman and the Russell Municipal Trail. These are two of approximately 350 approved projects to be completed in Southern Ontario as part of the second Canada 150 Community Infras- tructure Program (CIP 150). With the announcement of $44.4million Senior transport funding The United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) will have a little more money for its community transportation program, which helps provide assisted public transport for seniors. Ontario Transportation confirmed that the UCPR will have an extension on the pilot program it launched for senior community transportation, and will also receive an extra $50,000 on top of the $100,000 it already received in support funds for the program. – Gregg Chamberlain
Vendredi passé, le député Francis Drouin a annoncé que lesmunicipalités de Cassleman et Russell recevront des fonds pour l’amélioration de la patinoire extérieure du parc Richelieu de Casselman et le sentiermunicipal de Russell. Il s’agit de deux des quelque 350 projets approuvés qui seront réalisés dans le sud de l’Ontario, dans le cadre du Programme d’infrastructure communautaire de Canada 150. « L’objectif du Programme d’infrastructure communautaire de Canada 150 est de faire en sorte que les résidents aient accès à de meilleurs espaces communautaires. La patinoire extérieure du parc Richelieu et le sentier municipal de Russell fournissent un espace où les enfants et les adultes peuvent passer du temps et être actifs dans leur communauté », a dit le député Drouin.
