Young blood wanted
Photo Gregg Chamberlain Geneviève Hudon, a former L'Escale student, made her way back to school Oct. 27 to take part in one of the regular blood donor clinics held in Rockland. It's the first time for Hudon as a blood donor and the Canadian Blood Services Agency would like to see her come back. The agency is trying to encouragemore donors to step up from the younger age brackets to keep the supply of transfusion blood and plasma steady.
Local farmgroups and others are urged to call about getting on the list for grant money to help fund environmental outreach and education projects that deal with water quality. The South Nation Conservation Authority (SNC) has a new program through its clean water committee that provides aid grants of up to $500 to agricultural organizations to assist with clean-water related information and educationefforts likeworkshops and tours. Aucun permis n’est requis pour installer un abri d’auto temporaire. Toutefois, le propriétaire doit s’assurer que son installation respecte les normes prescrites par le règlement 2009-138 sur les Abris d’Entreposage Temporaire. Dans le cas où l’installation ne serait pas conforme à la réglementation municipale, le service de la réglementation pourrait exiger que le propriétaire concerné apporte les correctifs nécessaires, sous peine des amendes prévues au règlement. Temporary car enclosures including its cover can be installed as of November 1st and are permitted until April 30th of the following year. No permit is required for the installation of a temporary car enclosure. However, the owner must ensure that the installation is done in accordance to the provisions prescribed under by-law 2009-138 regulating Temporary Storage Structures. In the event that the installation is not done in accordance to the by-law, the Municipal Law Enforcement Service may request the owner to make the corrective measures necessary, as per the penalties set out in the by-law. Please note that overnight winter parking restrictions are in effect from November 15th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012. By-law No. 2007-01 stipulates that no person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to be parked on a highway (street) at anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November 15th to April 1st.
Vehicles parked in violation of this by-law are subject to a $45.00 fine.
