Eight units of Bible (including both Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey) on the undergraduate level are required . If a deficiency exists , the applicant may take these studies (for zero graduate music degree credit) at Talbot Theological Semi­ nary and School of Theology. A combined score of I000 for verbal and quantitative on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required . Entrance examinations will be given in written and aural theory, orchestration, sight-singing , piano proficiency, music history and conducting. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Requirements for the degree include the success ful completion of 44 semester hours of prescribed and elective courses with a GPA in all subjects of at least 3 .0. Eight units of previous graduate study with a grade point of at least 3 .0 may be transferred in , with the exception of the following courses: worship and liturgies , church music history, administration / group dynamics , voice and conducting. Continuous registration is expected. A petition for an exception to this requirement may be made shou ld the applicant have to withdraw from school for a short period of time. The program must be completed within five years. Nine units of course load is considered full-time status for all graduate sudents. The applicant's progress will be revi ewed by the music faculty upon the completion of the following 16 units: worship and liturgies , church music history , administration / group dynamics, voice, conducting, hermeneutics , psalms and introduction to ministry. The final project, for which there are no units , is to include a formal paper stating the student's personal philosophy of church music. Concurrent with the completion of the above paper will be an oral examination covering the following topics: worship, church music history and administration.
