Scope
This Policy applies to all attorneys, law clerks, paralegals, legal assistants, investigators, support staff, and any other personnel who perform work on criminal defense matters for [Organization Name]. It governs the use of all AI technologies, including but not limited to:
Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot);

{ Legal-specific AI platforms (e.g., Harvey, Lexis+ AI, CoCounsel);
Evidence review and discovery tools with AI capabilities;

Transcription and translation AI services;

Video and audio analysis tools; and

AI-enhanced document drafting and proofreading tools.

II. GOVERNANCE A.
AI Policy Committee
[Organization Name] shall establish an AI Policy Committee responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing administration of this Policy. The Committee shall include representation from leadership, practicing attorneys, information technology, and administrative staff. B. Committee Responsibilities
The AI Policy Committee shall:
Review and approve AI tools for organizational use;

Develop and update training materials and protocols;

Receive and respond to questions regarding AI use;

Monitor developments in AI technology, ethics guidance, and court rules;

Recommend policy amendments as needed.
