Recent news from the Assam Field reports two more leprosy patients accepting the Lord.” James ’58 SMM and Kay (Kiyoko) Kata- masu, Belem, Brazil: “ The village in which we shall live is called Japo-mira. All the men helped to construct our house in this Indian village of five houses. We were able to build an airstrip over the area which five years ago the administra tor of the Urubu Indian post had cleared and now we can fly there in little over an hour. The river trip took almost two weeks.” Don Hillis ’32, Publications Secretary for The Evangelical Alliance Mission, writes: “ Here is a picture of the Biola alumni who were at our orientation classes

for missionary candidates. From left to right they are Ray ’32 and Mabel (Ax- worthy ’32) Chandler, who are missionaries in Japan; John (’61 SMM) Anderson, candidate for Dutch New Guinea; and Marilyn (Hall ’61) and Earl Novak, candi dates for Korea.” James and Catherine (Callaway ’51) Cook, Brigham City, Utah: “W e praise the Lord for the definite victories at the Intermountain School . . . The church building at Kamas was at a stand-still but now it is making progress. In Heber, where there never has been a Protestant church, we now have three families who profess to be Christians and they meet weekly.” Jack ’AA and Sally ’AA Hawthorne, Paterson, New Jersey: “ After seventeen years with the Bolivian Indian Mission, we were forced to leave the altitude of Bolivia because of health. The Lord has opened a door of service under the Con servative Baptist Home Mission Society in the New York Metropolitan area. The million Puerto Ricans and other Spanish speaking people here constitute a real for eign mission field. Locally, we are min istering in a newly-organized Spanish Bap tist Church in Paterson. We have a weekly broadcast in Spanish over WEVD . . . and are hoping to begin a Bible Institute for the Spanish-speaking young people.”
