The Fes- tival truly welcomes autumn with a bang with good food and friends. I’ll come back next year for sure.”

VANKLEEK HILL | Hundreds of foodies con- verged to Vankleek Hill last weekend for the annual Festival of Flavours on Main Street. From kangaroo hot-dogs to comfort food like baked beans and ribs, everybody left with a stuffed belly, cool recipes and bas- kets full of local products. “It’s the place to be if you want to buy lo- cal and experience new cuisine”, said one visitor from Lachute. “You have food and products from producers and artisans from Québec and Ontario. For us who live near the border, it’s a perfect fit for price and va- riety.” Sausage sticks from L’Orignal Packing were a big hit on the street and so were the baked beans from La Binerie Plantagenet.
After some tasty ribs, visitors were welcome by the aroma of natural soap and couldn’t resist a visit to the Vankleek Hill Cottage
