Welcome to the Show-Me Reds Sale It is time again for the annual Missouri Red Angus Show Me-Reds Sale and Meeting. With cattle markets continuing to thrive and green grass beginning to emerge, this is certainly an exciting time to be seeking additions to your herd. It is fair to assume that there are many options available to you as you search for cattle this spring. So, what sets this event apart? As a buyer, this sale is a unique opportunity to connect with a large group of progressive breeders in a single location. The breeders at this event are eager to both earn your business, as well as build lasting relationships. Whether you are long established in the Red Angus business, or just getting started, I assure you that you can find value in attending this phenomenal event. One innovation that our association has implemented is the MORAA Fescue Belt Certification Program. Cattle from the fescue belt are more likely to thrive in our environment and in most environments in the U.S. As you browse the catalog, you will find cattle that qualify for the Fescue Belt Certification identified as such. The demand for quality Red Angus genetics is at an all-time high. As we look at trends in the beef industry, we know that it is time to build back the American cowherd. The maternal traits of mothering ability, fertility, docility, and longevity are hallmarks of Red Angus genetics. In this offering you will find genetics from the top tier of the Red Angus breed. Whether you are shopping for a show heifer, registered cows, bulls, or commercial cows this offering has something for you. I would also like to suggest to those of you who may not be looking to purchase cattle, but who have a stake in the health of the Red Angus breed in Missouri, come see this event. I cannot stress enough the kindness, professionalism, and depth of knowledge you will find as you walk the pens here in Springfield. Sale cattle will be in & available for viewing on Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning. Whether you intend to buy or just come visit, we truly look forward to seeing you on sale day. If you are unable to attend, don’t hesitate to contact any of the consignors or buyer representatives listed in this catalog. Additionally, the sale will be broadcast live over the internet through DV Auction.

Please RSVP to join us for our Annual Meeting Dinner on Saturday night - we would love for you to join us.

THE SHOW-ME REDS SALE

APRIL 26, 2026 • SPRINGFIELD, MO

MISSOURI RED ANGUS ASSOCIATION Fescue Belt Certified Program

Many of us who live in the “fescue belt” have experienced the problems associated with importing newly purchased cattle into our environment. What we’ve seen is a significant percentage of cattle that have not been raised on fescue struggle to perform after being imported onto this “grass we love to hate”. Some animals eventually overcome this issue, but many will not and will eventually be culled from the herd. Fescue toxicity results from toxins called ergot alkaloids, which are produced by a fungus called endophyte that grows within the fescue plant. Cattle expe- riencing fescue toxicosis may exhibit rough hair coats, heat stress, suppressed appetite, poor growth rates, reduced reproductive performance, and in some cases lost tail switches or even hooves. The decreased animal performance seen during the “summer slump” of cool-season pastures is made even worse by these toxic effects of fescue. Research on the subject of fescue management has been done for years. Several strategies can be used to mitigate the toxic effects of fescue, including removal or suppression of seedheads, overseeding of pastures with legumes or other forages, and good mineral supplementation programs. However, fescue remains a serious challenge. The USDA estimates fescue toxicosis costs the U.S. beef industry an estimated $600 million to $1 billion annually in lost revenue because of reduced reproductive and growth rates in cattle herds. The entire state of Missouri is situated within the fescue belt. Since fescue was introduced into our region, Missourians have built their herds retaining only genetics that have proven to be “fescue tolerant.” When looking for Red Angus genetics, look for the MORAA FBC logo & cattle that have “Bred-in Fescue Tolerance.”

The Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program provides cattle producers with tools to enhance reproductive andgenetic potential of their herds and improve ultimate profitability. The program transfers science-based knowledge that enables participants to make practical production decisions that impact their bottom line. The Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program is an educational conduit for beef producers, veterinarians and allied industry, and is focused on enhancing the adoption of reproduction and genetic/genomic technologies across Missou- ri. The program, which began in 1996, is the only statewide on-farm beef heifer development and marketing program of its kind in the United States.

Nearly 150,000 heifers, from more than 900 farms, are enrolled in the program. The marketing arm of the program has reported sales of almost 37,000 heifers into 20 states nationwide, with gross receipts of more than $60 million. To date, MU’s investment in implementing the Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program has resulted in an estimated impact of $200 million statewide.

Premium Red Baldy is a tagging program designed to take advantage of hybrid vigor by maximizing the best traits of both Red Angus and Hereford and providing commercial producers with premium replacement females. The program will help producers access genetically verified females that have the best combination of longevity, fertility and adaptability to incorporate into producers’ herds.

To qualify for Premium Red Baldy, females must be sired by bulls in the top 50% of the breed for Baldy Maternal Index (BMI$) or Profitability and Sustain- ability Index (ProS). Targeted breed percentages will range from 25%-75% for both breeds, with the balance being the alternate breed. Females must be red-bodied with either a bald or brockle face. As the nation’s cow herd expands to meet beef demand, Premium Red Baldy females will rise to the challenges of producing more beef sustainably and profitably, without sacrificing quality. The Premium Red Baldy program has the ideal balance of maternal and carcass traits, which will yield cattle poised to increase the profitability of the commercial producer. Premium Red Baldy uses genetics supported by the only two beef breed associations backed by whole herd reporting.

Take a look at this wide based, deep sided, bold made Duff Red Blood X Blockana mating, that goes back to the highly sought after Montana Creek sire and the prolific Maternal Grand Dam, Blockanna 6785. This moderate framed Red Blood son offers strength in maternal traits, including birth weight, calving ease, stay, milk, and heifer pregnancy. We purchased this bull last November, after our herd bull injured himself. We put him with lat- er calving mature cows and we were thrilled with this aggressive breeder. McGraw’s weight as of February 7th, 2026 is 1,764 pounds.

Sultana L015N is a fancy Blue Chip open heifer, that has got it going on! We love the genetic mix with the Blue Chip x Propulsion. Out of a first calf heifer, this chick has been a looker since day 1. Awesome potential with this female! Sells open, ready to breed to the bull of YOUR choice.

5-L Haffie 28N has an easy-going personality and a herdbuilder in the top half of the breed. We’ve kept a couple of her paternal sibs out of Sandridge Respect 2558, and many daughters out of her MGS 5-L Cow- boy Church. They make awesome cows. This moderate, functional, and attractively built female goes back three generations in the inlaws’ pro- gram, and we look forward to seeing her impact in another operation.

She is a dark red 100% red angus female. She has a well-balanced set of epd’s and a very good phenotype. Sired out of EXCC Complete 2148 and goes back to Beckton and Mushrush lines on the dam side. This heifer is a good asset that we hate to see leave our farm.

19N is a November heifer that has a very balanced set of EPD’s with an emphasis on calving ease and growth. Her pedigree goes back to SLGN EXTRA SWEET (1364491). 19N has an extended neck followed by massive rib and a thick rear portion. She will make a show heifer and go on to make a cow to build a herd from. Be sure to look her up sale day. Broke to tie. Watch for her video on DVAUCTION.

We love these Hi Caliber X JK Jess calves. Stout from the ground up, wide based, with plenty of grow. JL HSL Cali 765D has plenty of muscle front to back, while still keeping some femininity and flash. She doesn’t need much pressure on the halter and is already a sweetheart. Add in the fertili- ty of her dam and full sib sister, and 765D has a bright future ahead of her.

JL HSL Darlin 1255 reminds me a lot of her dam at this stage, and 125H did great for me as a show heifer and has been a great cow for our operation. You can appreciate an easy-going cow, and 1255 is the same. Elegant and feminine, the way she’s put together strikes me as something that will only get better with time. We’ve been using Wilbar Intuition 832J pretty heavily, and his daughters continue to impress us. The days ahead look good for this one.

OPEN HEIFER DOB: 09-10-2025 Reg: 5212239 A

Tim Orr was a big fan of G44 as a calf, and we’re big fans of her as a cow. Her first heifer we’ve ever offered is long, clean-fronted, with lots of rib shape. JL HSL Blockanna 445 has flat come on since weaning, and with eight numbers in the top half of the breed for growth and carcass, she won’t stop anytime soon. The Blockanna’s make good females, and this Wilbar Intuition 832J calf will continue that pattern.

C-BAR MIMI 201K was our pick of the 2022 embryo heifer calves from the legendary C-BAR RANCH. She was halter broke and shown by me at two of the largest cow shows, NAILE and CATTLEMENS CONGRESS, gaining lots of compliments from many true cattlemen and women. This has been a no miss cow producing double digit embryos the two times she was flushed once convention, and IVF. This young cow has conceived every time she was AI. This young cow was A.I. To DUFF RED WARRIOR on 2/6/26 then pasture Exposed to PIE QUARTERBACK 0817. Confirm Safe to DUFF RED WARRIOR.
