UNLEASH YOUR INNOVATIVE POWER TRUST YOUR CREATIVITY

Embrace Boredom When your mind is scrambling for something to occupy it, instead of scrolling through social media on your cellphone, grab a notepad and write, doodle, or paint. Pick up the book you started and never finished and read. Let your mind wander a bit — you’ll never know where it will take you. Have Fun All work and no play is never a good thing,

Recently, we came across a quote by Reid Hoffman, the co-creator of LinkedIn. He said, “All humans are entrepreneurs not because they should start companies but because the will to create and take control of our destiny is encoded in human DNA, and creation

is the essence of entrepreneurship.” This made us think about creativity and the role it plays in our careers and daily lives. Without creativity, we would forgo our identities and the uniqueness that sets us apart.

In business, creativity is the vehicle that generates success, and in our personal lives, creativity opens up our minds and helps us think outside the box, meet new people, and try new things. Creativity and Innovation go hand in hand. May 30 is National Creativity Day, a day in which we celebrate our individuality and the creative projects we work on. In the equipment finance industry, we welcome the creativity and innovation programs that are shaping our industry. Innovation is a driving

so make time to do things that make you happy. Whether you enjoy sports, sculpting, or scuba diving, there are so many ways you can be creative. Maybe you can find a more effective way to work out, a new move in your favorite sport, or a different perspective on your favorite piece of art. Don’t ever deprive yourself of things you enjoy because you don’t have the time or you are too busy at work. Get Outdoors

“We all have a creative side that allows us to explore the world in new ways, express ourselves, and to stand out from the crowd.”

When you embrace the sunshine and the fresh air, it helps clear your mind. Vitamin D and a nice breeze can work wonders for allowing you to brainstorm ideas, embrace new thoughts, and get your wheels turning. The next time you are trying to solve a problem, write the next chapter in your book, or come up with more financial options and possibilities, take a stroll outside!

Results Start at the Top

SETTING UP YOUR SALES TEAM FOR SUCCESS

Is your sales team not getting the results you’d like? It’s easy to criticize their performance, but success starts at the top. Your sales team needs leadership, guidance, resources, and training to succeed. Here are some areas where your business may need to step up to the plate to improve sales numbers long term. Onboarding Before a sales representative can be successful, they must understand what they’re selling and who they’re selling it to. That may seem shockingly simple, but countless companies get it wrong, with 66% of the top-performing sales organizations reporting that they struggle with onboarding. Before letting them fend for themselves, your new

ask questions. Every business should also invest in its sales playbook as a comprehensive guide. Unfortunately, only 29% of surveyed companies say theirs is accurate and updated. Expectations No one can live up to your standards without understanding them. The expectations and metrics you give employees should be unambiguous. Think carefully about what you expect before you announce it. Transparent expectations motivate employees, but shifting goals demoralize. Expectations will change over time, but adjustments should be rare and clearly communicated. Further, ensure your team knows why the change is happening so they can feel like a part of the company’s new vision. Feedback

reps must be fluent in your company’s customer base, value proposition, and offerings. Otherwise, they’ll try to sell the wrong things to the wrong people. Resources

Don’t leave your sales reps in the dark. There’s nothing worse than thinking you’re doing everything right and learning the opposite during your annual review.

Your sales team shouldn’t stop learning after a few weeks. Sales is a complex field, and new issues arise all the time. Where can your reps go for help, and how can they find solutions? Your team needs

It’s also incredibly frustrating for employees to fail but not understand why. Be consistent about telling each team member what is and isn’t working, and follow up to celebrate

mentorship and participation from management; nothing will doom your company faster than employees who are afraid to

improvements. Your reps will feel valued — and more motivated to close the next big deal!

How to Spot Fake Online Influencers IS THIS A REAL BRAND?

The first way to determine if an account is fake is if you notice a comment on one of your pictures saying, “Can you DM us?” If a brand wants to work with you or your child, they will reach out to you directly, not the other way around. If a “company” posts a comment, it’s most likely a bot that sent an automated message after it flagged a specific hashtag or word. If you receive a message from someone saying they are from a particular company, be cautious before accepting their proposal. If the company isn’t messaging you from its main account, it’s most likely a scam. An example of these messages was shown at the beginning of this article. Additionally, since this should be a professional business proposal, if the message includes emojis, it’s another sign that the account is probably a bot.

“Hey! I’m on the promoter team for X business, and we think you are a perfect fit for our ambassador program.” Messages like this and many others are a common tactic that fake brands and scammers use to trick people. Some may think this will only happen to people with large followings, but that’s not always true. Even your child may receive direct messages or comments on photos from scammers who want to take advantage of their naivete.

Furthermore, proceed cautiously if the account asks you to buy their product first or offers an ambassadorship immediately. This is an easy way for scammers to steal your hard-earned money. If a brand wants you to try their products, ensure that it’s in writing that they will give it to you for free or reimburse you. While it’s exciting that a brand wants to work with you or your child, please research and ensure the company is real before accepting any partnership. Trusting your gut and taking preventive measures will go a long way.

So, how do you spot these fake brands and influencers?

When you first look at the individual and the company’s business social media accounts, everything may seem genuine at first. However, the major difference between fake and real influencers and companies is that fake brands will have unauthentic accounts and bots — meaning their audience isn’t even real.

Salmon Croquettes With Dill Sauce

Summer Is on the Horizon

Inspired by Epicurious.com

INGREDIENTS

• 1 1/2 cups plain yogurt or fat- free sour cream • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard • 6 sprigs fresh dill, chopped • 2 14.75-oz cans salmon packed in water

• 4 celery stalks, finely chopped • 1 large white onion, finely chopped • 4 large eggs, beaten • 1/2 tbsp salt

• 1 tbsp pepper • 2 tbsp olive oil

As summer quickly approaches, something your clients may ask you about is what equipment is best to purchase for the hotter months. We believe the key is to concentrate on what will add value to your business and generate revenue. However, the more important question is how to care for your equipment and machinery when the heat strikes because operating large equipment this time of year requires proper care to achieve optimal performance. If your clients are preparing for summer jobs and operations, here are some things you may want to remind them of! Summer Equipment Maintenance Have your clients take the extra time to inspect their machines for HELP YOUR CLIENTS PREPARE FOR THE HEAT

DIRECTIONS

1. In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, Dijon mustard, and dill to make the dill sauce. Set aside. 2. Drain the salmon, then remove and discard the bones and skin. In a large bowl, mix the salmon, celery, onion, eggs, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 8 patties. Coat a medium skillet with olive oil and heat it over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. 3. Put a dollop of the dill sauce on top of each patty and serve.

damage, wear and tear, or any potential concerns that may lead to larger problems down the road. They will also want to check their fluid levels and tire pressure. In the sun and heat, parts can dry out faster, so grease and lubrication will be essential. Proper Cooldown After use, machines require a cooling down period, especially because the higher temperatures are causing machines to work harder throughout the day. Allowing machines to idle for a few minutes before fully turning them off for the day can help your clients preserve their investments. Protect Your Equipment Suggest to your clients that they store their equipment out of the sun and not operate anything on extremely hot days, if possible, to avoid overheating the machine. While working outside, they should keep an eye on the displays, and if they notice any signs of overheating or strain, advise them to take a break to avoid damaging the equipment. Summer months may be prime time for your customers with jobs rolling in, so make sure they know the proper protocols to follow to protect their investments in their equipment!
