The Guide to Corrective Behaviour and Disciplinary Action

1.1 OVERVIEW

Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru believes that its most important asset is its Human Resource. The role of the management is to establish policies and procedures designed to improve the quality of work life in the Hotel. The aim is to address and sufficiently provide for the needs of employees while at the same time, establish the standards of discipline and professionalism required by employees in achieving service excellence. The rules and regulations contained in this Guide are geared towards the achievement of these objectives. The Guide provides a mechanism through which expected norms of conduct are clearly defined to ensure consistency, objectivity and efficiency in managing the Hotel. Further, the Guide serves as a communication tool designed to instil discipline, harmony and fairness in handling employees. It is therefore, a very effective reminder of what we continuously aim to become, a preferred employer, and an organisation that has respect and consideration for one another.

1.2 OBJECTIVE

The Guide aims to promote, ensure and achieve the following:

1. To understand and internalise the conduct expected of Shangri-La hotel, Bengaluru employees.

2. To ensure consistency in disciplinary actions.

3. To provide constructive measures for employees to understand and learn from their mistakes.

4. To ensure the promotion of fairness and equality in the treatment of its employees irrespective of any factors like race, age, gender etc.
