management department. The team built Volcan’s long-term financial model that was reported to Glencore’s HQ, and enabled long-term, accurate forecasting for setting annual budgets. Arranged Volcan’s cost structure to reduce complexity and increase the accuracy and confidence to manage costs in the operations. The cost structure and guidelines also reduced reporting timing by 50% and received the award for simplicity. Implemented a continuous learning programme for the Operations team. Led the team responsible for implementing the project in one of Hochschild mines, using Coursera as a teaching platform. Built a study saloon to inspire employees. The programme was successfully implemented and aligned the company to the UN’s sustainable development objectives.
