This defeats the at-will employment doctrine.  Inquire about applicant’s children.  Ask the applicant how he/she feels about working with people of different races.  Ask the applicant’s maiden name.  Ask questions about the applicant’s marital status, number or ages of her children, current pregnancy, or future childbearing plans.
