Management of People: • Recruitment of quality people. • Line management and development of personnel. • Develop and train people to meet new and challenging organisational needs. • Establish and communicate clear standards and expectations. • Performance management including appraisal, motivation, pay and promotions. • Secure commitment to change through appropriate involvement of people. • Delegate effectively. • Make best use of the skills and resources of own team. Management of financial and other resources: • Lead on annual budgets for both staff and group operational financials. • Lead on developing production metrics to ensure swift response to University business cases. • Ensure cost efficiency on everyday costs, identifying areas of savings and negotiating deals and managing contracts. Reporting Line: The Director of Media & Technology Enhanced Learning Operations will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer but will operate in a matrix environment to many key stakeholders within the University. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the COO and other senior key stakeholders from time to time. The post holder is required to be flexible in their role and working hours to meet the needs of the business. This job description is correct at May 2020.
