By mid-August, teens taking part in the program had read more than 70,000 pages from among the various books, graphic nov- els and magazines stocked on the library’s ZPVUITFDUJPOTIFMWFT.JBI%VFUUFXBTPOF of those champion readers and won an HP laptop donated by the Rockland Optimist Club during the end-of-season draw. Library staff is now sorting through ideas and suggestions for next year’s Teen Club summer activity program. “We want to bring the library into the community,” said Bolduc, “make it a place young people think of when they want something to do. So we’re here if anyone has suggestions for activities.”

Clarence-Rockland Public Library’s Teen Club finished its first summer season and all had a fun time. “We had some great activities,” said Nan- cie Bolduc, library youth services coordinator. “We tried to come up with fun activities and something different for them to do.” Bolduc and others involved in organizing the first season of the Teen Club had 58 registrations when the program started at the beginning of summer, almost double their expectations.
