Our overall goal is to keep you safe while you are receiving the interventions required to recover and return to being you. You need to feel comfortable and safe while you seek care. It is our priority to see that this happens.

What should I know about cryotherapy? While the thought of being exposed to cold temperatures can seem daunting, cryotherapy has a lot of proven and effective results. In fact, according to Spine Universe, “cryotherapy [is] generally more effective in terms of depth of penetration than other superficial thermal modalities.” There are two types of cryotherapy: whole body and localized. At California Rehabilitation, we offer both localized cryotherapy and Whole Body CryoTherapy (WBC) as adjunct and separate treatments to facilitate your recovery. While local cryo targets the specific painful area, WBC addresses the entire body system facilitating whole body recovery. After your cryotherapy treatments, the icy temperatures will work to temporarily increase your local metabolism, which will help with pain and inflammation relief. It can be difficult to understand the mechanics behind how exactly cryotherapy helps your body, and we believe Spine Universe explains it best: “The analgesic effects of ice result from a decreased nerve conduction velocity along pain fibers and a reduction of the muscle spindle activity responsible for mediating local muscle tone.”
