During this panademic I have been working with lots of first responders and medical professionals, particularly Doctors to get their estate plan in order. They all understand the need and urgency to make sure their families are protected. They work long hours and have fairly selfless jobs in which they take on challenges and risks to help others when they need it most. What this means is that estate planning is very important for doctors, medical professionals and all first responders, because they may have significant assets to leave to their children. Even beyond the money they have on hand, many may have primary homes, vacation homes, and other types of property that they want to keep in the family. Plus, many in the medical profession may have children who want to go into the family business. Can they leave the practice to the next generation? What type of succession plan do medical professionals need to make sure the process goes smoothly? If their children don’t want to work in the same field, can these medical professionals sell their practice to a third party? There are a lot of questions to ask, and the process can get complicated, so medical professionals must know exactly what steps to take.

experience as being there in person. Here are some tips to keep in mind while on these virtual tours. DIG DEEP. Don’t speed through these tours. Take time to view the materials available. Your teen may have no plans to use the athletic facilities, but you should take the time to check them out anyway. These photos can give you a sense of how the school encourages physical fitness. Listen to guided videos, if available, and take in the full view in every photo you can. Also, keep an eye out for contact info, such as phone numbers or email addresses, that you can reach out to if you or your teen have any specific questions that were unanswered. VIEW MULTIPLE VIRTUAL TOURS OF THE SAME SCHOOL. Most colleges and universities have created their own virtual tours, but there may also be tours of the same campuses created by private companies

If attending college is in your teenager’s future, then you are probably already thinking about touring college campuses. A college tour is a rite of passage for many young people and can help them make important decisions about the next chapter of their life. Distance and other factors may prevent you and your teen from being able to visit many campuses. Fortunately, virtual tours have made it simple for prospective students to check out almost every college they may want to attend. These days, most colleges offer virtual tours, complete with photos, recordings, and even virtual reality programs that allow you to explore every inch of the campus without ever leaving home. However, if you’ve ever gone house hunting, then you know how misleading photos can be. The right angle can make a shoebox look like a master bedroom! Virtual college tours suffer from the same problem. Digitally visiting a college campus doesn’t give you quite the same

or individuals. If available, make time to check out multiple tours of your teen’s preferred schools. Different tours will give you multiple points of view, and you might notice something important in one tour that wasn’t covered in a different one. GO BEYOND THE COLLEGE-PROVIDED TOUR. While most virtual college tours make an effort to give viewers an accurate representation of life on campus, these tours are curated by the administration. In order to get a sense of what students think of the college, go the extra mile by tracking down online communities. Look for student groups on Facebook or Reddit and check out the conversations taking place. See how students interact with the school’s Twitter account. You can even look for the school’s hashtag on Instagram and see photos taken by students. But don’t just look at social media posts. Encourage your teen to reach out to other students and ask questions. Students who are actually enrolled will be a lot more honest about the dorms, the food, and the teachers than the university guide. VISIT IN PERSON IF POSSIBLE. Virtual tours can help your teen narrow down their college prospects and decide which school they really like. Once your student has decided their top choices, see if it’s possible to tour the colleges in person. It might not always be possible to easily visit a college before an acceptance letter comes — especially if your teen has their heart set on

an international school — but physically being on the campus can help you both determine if that’s really where your teen wants to spend the next several years of their life. Ready to start visiting colleges without leaving the house? Start your tours at YouVisit.com/collegesearch. They have 360-degree tours of over 600 college campuses, from John Hopkins University in Maryland to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Help your teenager start planning their future today.

SUPER BEAGLES AND JUMPING LLAMAS Guinness World Records’ Most Amazing Animals

Guinness World Records that training Didga took a lot of time and patience and that he was so proud of his clever cat. PURIN, THE BEAGLE WHO HOLDS 3 GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Nicknamed “The Super Beagle,” Purin scored her first title in 2015 for her amazing goalkeeping skills. The beagle “saved” 14 mini soccer balls thrown by her human, Makoto Kumagai, in one minute. A year later, Purin claimed another record when she became the “fastest dog on a ball” by traveling 10 meters in 10.39 seconds while balancing on a ball. Not long after, Purin and Kumagai set the record for “most skips by a dog and a person in one minute — single rope” with 58 skips. Talk about super!

day, she was working on agility training with her dogs when she noticed her llama, Caspa, watching them. After a little time and training, Williams discovered that Caspa loved jumping, too. In 2015, Caspa cleared a bar set at 3 feet, 8 1/2 inches. He jumped right into the world record for “highest bar jump cleared by a llama.” “He’s a complete diva,” says Williams. “So, if there are people there to show off in front of, that’s when he’s at his ultimate best.” DIDGA, A VERY TRICKY KITTY Anyone who says cats can’t learn tricks hasn’t met Didga. In 2016, Didga, with help from her human, Robert Dollwet, claimed a world record by performing 20 different tricks in 60 seconds. Her routine started with the classics, like sitting and giving high-fives, and culminated in riding a skateboard while hopping over a low bar. Dollwet told

2 WAYS TO REVIVE YOUR LIFE THIS SUMMER Feeling Renewed at Any Age

yoga or even a video game. Trying out new things keeps your brain active. You may even discover a new favorite activity along the way! PAY ATTENTION TO MENTAL HEALTH. Although more years provide more experience and knowledge, sometimes they also come with heavy baggage. The loss of a loved one, trauma, and other struggles can impact your life in later years. This is why it’s good to practice mindfulness. Take some time to focus on the present. Go for a walk and listen to the world around you, feel the fresh air against your skin, fill your lungs, and take in everything you can see. Meditation is also a good way to spend a few minutes to focus on your body in the moment and the things in life that make you happy. Practices like these can help you feel lighter, both physically and emotionally.

If the mercurial spring weather has prevented you from getting out as much as you would have liked these past few months, you might be feeling a bit of cabin fever about now. Luckily, you can still introduce positive changes to your life that help you feel healthier and younger. Here are two ways to awaken your body and mind. ADOPT A NEW ACTIVITY. As you get older, it’s not uncommon to drift further from the lifestyle you had in your 20s and 30s. Things have settled down, and you know a bit more about who you are, what you enjoy, and what you’re capable of. With this better understanding, you can make choices more aligned with your true interests and personality. Think about getting involved with a new activity you may have always wanted to try but never had the chance, like

Growing older doesn’t mean you can’t feel renewed and positive. This isn’t just an impossible idea — it’s a reality.

A ‘Silver’ Bullet ATTORNEYS GENERAL STAND FIRMAGAINST SNAKE OIL

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic found its way to the U.S., many people stocked up on emergency medical supplies. For some, this meant purchasing colloidal silver “cures” that were promised to kill the virus. Supplements, pills, and oils with no scientific evidence of their efficacy were sold to consumers until the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent cease-and-desist orders to seven manufacturers in March 2020. One such product involved was Sherrill Sellman’s Silver Solution. Sellman, a self- described naturopathic doctor and mind- body psychologist who appeared on Bakker’s show on Feb. 12, proclaimed Silver Solution is a cure for the coronavirus. Bakker promoted the product and later sold it through his website. The Missouri and New York attorneys general caught wind of this scheme and immediately filed cease-and-desist orders, and even a

Jim Bakker dominated headlines in the late 1980s with his legal troubles, and now the televangelist is facing a new lawsuit in 2020. The original story of Bakker’s fall begins on a TV set. Bakker and his wife at the time, Tammy Faye Messner, hosted the popular evangelical talk show“The PTL Club” from the mid- 1970s to the late 1980s. However, their reign came crashing down when Bakker resigned after being accused of offering money to church secretary Jessica Hahn to cover up rape allegations. Bakker was later convicted of scamming thousands of viewers out of millions of dollars, and he spent several years in prison. Today, Bakker hosts “The Jim Bakker Show” and leads Morningside Church in Missouri. While freedom of religion is protected in the U.S., a recent promotion on Bakker’s show caught the attention of attorneys nationwide.

lawsuit, against Bakker. NPR explains that Bakker and his church are in violation of state laws by “falsely promising consumers that Silver Solution can cure, eliminate, kill, or deactivate coronavirus.” Bakker stopped selling Silver Solution in mid- March 2020. Even as the lawsuit continues to move through the court system, the message is clear: The justice system is cracking down on the sale of snake oil.
