Rekli ste da su vas „Bitlsi“ na- učili svemu. Da li još mislite da nema bolje muzike od one koje su oni svirali? – Ako mislite na pop i rok muziku, oni su toliko toga napravili da je nemo- guće nakon njih biti nov, inovativan, in- spirisan i kreativan. Naravno, ne potce- njujem ništa što je bilo i pre njih i nakon njih, ali ta količina kreativnosti i inspira- cije za tako malo vremena, to je kosmič- ki fenomen. Njihov songbuk mi stoji po- red fotelje u dnevnoj sobi kao podsetnik. Ko je za vas najbolji gitarista na svetu? – Najbolji gitarista na svetu je onaj mali dečak od 10 godina koji je zale- pio nos za izlog prodavnice instrume- nata i koji čezne da dobije instrument u koji se zagledao. Čežnja i strast vas čine najboljim. A ovi koji glume veli- čine, kod njih više nema soka, odavno su ga iscedili boreći se sa svetom, šou biznisom, privatnim problemima i lič- nim sujetama… I na kraju, ali ne najmanje bitno: Prilep, Skoplje, Kruševo... Kada biste pozvali goste u te grado- ve, šta biste im rekli, zašto mo- raju da dođu? – Već godinama zovem jednog prija- telja iz Slovenije da poseti Makedoniju. Bio je na Tibetu, u Londonu, Tajlandu, Americi i Indiji u potrazi za muzikom i duhovnim rastom. Ali ako je London metropola svetske pop muzike, a Nju- jork centar modernog džeza, Makedoni- ja bi mogla biti najbolja tačka za otkriva- nje najboljih tradicija balkanske muzike, uz dužno poštovanje prema muzici svih naroda i muzike koja se svira u regionu. Ali o magiji se ne može govoriti, ona se mora osetiti, ima tog ovde i suviše… The Beatles created so much that, after them, it’s impossible to be new, innovative, inspired and creative. A fter various musical and creative experiences, collaborating with big bands, rockers, fusion groups and chamber orchestras, his pre- vious album saw him address his audience intimately. Alone with his guitar, a master of quick ngers, one of the kings of the strings - Vlatko Stefanovski. At the upcoming jubi- lee 20 th Guitar Art Festival he will again de- light all guitar lovers, this time in a duet with the masterful Miroslav Tadić. At their Sava Centre concert they will perform a contin- uation of the famous “Kruševo”, while Vlat- ko will again nd himself in company that makes him feel at home. “Bringing together guitarists, profes- sors, maestros who manufacture instru- ments, traders and all guitar enthusiasts in one place is a holiday for us all. I’ve follow the development of the Guitar Art Festival since the very beginning and witnessed all of its ups and downs... As far as I’m able, I try to give my own contribution to the develop- ment of this guitar community...” You will perform for us with Miroslav Tadić again on 16th March, present- ing the long-awaited “Kruševo 2” pro- ject. What will we hear and what does collaborationbetweentwosuchmaes- tros even look like? - Miroslav and I already have a demo that we recorded in my studio, but we are a long way from a completed album. more important where we’ll record it than when. If we want to continue the trend of recording in environments with signicant acoustics, we need to nd a place on the planet where we need to do that. I’ve had very ambitious ideas about that, but I don’t want to say anything until everything has been agreed. When it comes to collabora- tion with Miroslav, that has endured for a long time, and I refer to our joint perform- ing as cognitive resonance. Without look- ing, we head in the same direction and shift left or right without reaching agreement... At a previous edition of the festival I spoke with Tommy Emmanuel, who only had words of praise for you, but who also told me that was tormented byyourrhythms.Howdidyouexplain that something Macedonian to him, can you even explain that? - I have even more words of praise for him... He is a unique guitar genius who can perform almost everything on an acoustic guitar. And when it comes to my present- ing of Macedonia and the Balkans, I didn’t insist on the most dicult rhythms, rather I adjusted the themes to make it comfortable for him to play too. It’s not easy to play irreg- ular rhythms if you didn’t grow up with that music. And the idea isn’t to frustrate some- one, rather to inspire them.
