JELOVARNIK
KOPAONIK’S TALL BEAUTY With cascades at a height of 71 metres, Jelovarnik represents Serbia’s third highest waterfall. Located at the foot of Mountain Kopaonik, within the scope of the National Park, it is hidden in a forest at an altitude of 1,116 metres above sea level and, with its three cascades, has been declared a nature reserve. Situated in dense woodland composed of beech, spruce and mountain maple trees, its home is an area of indescribably beautiful pristine nature. A strange tranquillity reigns here, and legend has it that any girl who brings her boyfriend to this waterfall will certainly end up marrying him. Perhaps she will and perhaps she won’t, but Jelovarnik certainly won’t leave you feeling indifferent.

BIGAR
NATURAL ARTWORK The Bigar stream flows along the western shoulder of the Balkan Mountain and has carved out extraordinary morphological formations along its entire course, culminating in a waterfall. Hidden above it, in dense vegetation, are small limestone ponds with a peculiar blue-green colour. These ponds aren’t just gems of nature in the municipality of Knjaževac, rather the water they contain is so clean that you can freely drink it. Twelve watermills used to grind grain near these ponds, but they haven’t operated for a long time and the buildings have fallen into ruin and are now overgrown…
