2025 Golden Age Games Competition Rules

Athletes must have prior pickleball experience of having played on a regular basis for at least the past year and provide their skill level during registration. The NVGAG reserves the right to change the tournament format for any age division based on entry numbers, space restrictions, or other circumstance. EVENT RULES Considering high interest and number of entries in Pickleball and the limited court time, matches may be shortened at the discretion of the tournament manager. 1. No competitor will be permitted to participate without the appropriate bib (competition number). 2. Pickleball will be played as doubles (males, females, and mixed) teams. 3. This will be a double elimination tournament. 4. A coin toss will determine the team to start the game. 5. Appropriate clothing and court shoes must be worn. 6. Athletes must have prior pickleball experience of having played on a regular basis for at least the past year and provide their skill level during registration. 7. The serve must be made underhand. Underhand- The player’s arm must be moving in forward and upward arc with the palm turned upward or downward. 8. Paddle contact with the ball must be below the server’s waist (navel level). 9. The serve is initiated with at least one foot behind the baseline. 10. Neither foot may contact the baseline or court until after the ball is struck. 11. The serve is made diagonally crosscourt and must land within the confines of the opposite diagonal court. 12. Drop Serve: Servers must release the ball from one of the server’s hands or dropped off the server's paddle face from any natural (unaided) height and hit the ball after the ball bounces. There is no restriction how many times the ball can bounce nor where the ball can bounce on the playing surface. The server’s release of the ball must be visible to the referee and the receiver.
