2025 Golden Age Games Guidelines

The competitions will include male doubles, female doubles and mixed doubles. Athletes will compete based on age and skill divisions. There will be eight age groups (55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74,75-79,80-84,85-89,90+) that will be divided into divisions in each competition. Divisions for each age group will be determined after registration closes. The Contractor is expected to assess the registrant numbers within each age group, consider player ratings, and create skill divisions that foster competitive brackets. USAPA Player Skill Rating Definitions

Examples below:

Division I - 4.0+; Division II – 3.5; Division III – 3.0; Division IV – 2.5 and below

Examples: (based on the number of registrants in an age group): Men’s doubles 55-59 may only be 2 skill divisions: Division 1 for players rated 4.0 and 3.5 and Division 2 for those rated 3.0 and below. On the other hand, the Men's doubles 70-74 age group, with more registrants, might require three divisions: Division 1 for 4.0 and 3.5 players, Division 2 for 3.0 players, and Division 3 for those rated 2.5 and under. The tournament format will be double elimination play, best two (2) out of three (3) games to 11, win by 2. Tournament format is subject to change based on the number of registration entries. Athletes must have prior pickleball experience of having played on a regular basis for at least the past year and provide their skill level during registration. The NVGAG reserves the right to change the tournament format for any age division based on entry numbers, space restrictions, or other circumstance. EVENT RULES Considering high interest and number of entries in Pickleball and the limited court time, matches may be shortened at the discretion of the tournament manager. 1. No competitor will be permitted to participate without the appropriate bib (competition number). 2. Pickleball will be played as doubles (males, females, and mixed) teams. 3. This will be a double elimination tournament. 4. A coin toss will determine the team to start the game.
