have worked side by side with Andrew Wakefield, one of the most important minds of our time, to create a documentary called “Vaxxed.” The film not only alerts Americans to the outright destruction of their civil liberties, it’s also leading the charge to demand the formation of a genuine independent research body to conduct legitimate science to ensure that all vaccines are truly safe. Susan, Rosey, Summer, and I came back from that weekend reinvigorated and fired up to continue spreading the message that health comes from within (above, down, and inside-out) rather than from a pill, injection, or surgery (outside-in). We are proud to be rescuing people from the downward medical vortex and giving them the “tools” and “armor” they need to “climb out of the vortex” and experience an exemplary quality of life. Due to our strong conviction that each person takes responsibility for their own health, we have committed ourselves to holding a free Body Signal workshop every last Tuesday of each month to educate about the “alarm” (the signal, such as pain, fatigue, etc.)

the electromagnetic fields (all of our electronics) that are harming our health and what can be done about it. Another of my favorite speakers was Dr. Josh Axe. He is a chiropractic and natural medicine doctor and a clinical nutritionist. He operates one of the world’s largest health websites, DrAxe.com, which has over 12 million visitors per month. He is an expert in functional medicine, digestive health, and herbal remedies. The third speaker I was excited to hear was Del Bigtree , who has a background both as a filmmaker and an investigative medical journalist. When Bigtree began investigating the fraud perpetrated by the Centers for Disease Control, he soon realized that he had stumbled upon a story of corruption and deception beyond any he had ever seen. Bigtree is proud to

chiropractic education and natural health seminar of the year, Cal Jam. For two solid days, from early morning to late evening, over 2,500 chiropractors and their teams gathered together to listen to over two dozen expert health speakers. It was fascinating to hear each of the speakers talk about how they are making a difference in people’s health and lives. Here are some of my favorite speakers: Dr. Joseph Mercola is an osteopathic physician who believes that proper nutrition, not medicine, is the key to good health. Dr. Mercola founded Mercola.com, a natural health website. He is a huge advocate for chiropractic care, and he spoke to us about all

GRAY MATTERS

boosts your mental well-being. A 5-mile walk once per week can increase brain volume and prevent mental diseases, including Alzheimer’s. It’s no wonder exercise is the go-to solution for maintaining wellness. Learn New Hobbies Do you want to reduce memory loss by 40–50 percent? Dan Buettner, a researcher and best-selling author on studies about happiness and longevity, suggests learning a new hobby. Whether you learn to knit, paint, or discover a new board game, you’ll enjoy improved mental health. Get your hands moving, and your mind will surely follow. (Note: Watching TV as a hobby doesn’t count! People who regularly watch TV may suffer up to 50 percent more memory loss.)

Socialize If you want to maintain mental health, make socializing a priority. Having an active social life increases your resistance to mental diseases and improves your mood. Furthermore, a healthy social network of friends and family (and we’re not talking Facebook here) helps give you a support system to fall back on when times get tough. Take a Break Take a step back from your everyday life and enjoy the small things. Set aside time to sit down with a good book or another activity you enjoy. While on that 5-mile walk, why not take a few moments to slow down your pace and look at the world around you? As the famous saying goes, “Stop and smell the roses.”

prospect of growing older. When

it comes to aging, people’s primary concerns include aches, pains, and changes to their physical appearance. But perhaps even more important is mental health. Fortunately, there are ways to keep your mind sharp as you age so you can enjoy your retirement. Exercise Working out is inextricably tied to wellness in all its forms. A simple, light workout now and then not only maintains physical health, but it also

“I WAS THIS CLOSE TO HAVING LOWER BACK SURGERY, BUT I GAVE DR. ALFF A SHOT AT HELPING MY BACK CONDITION, AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!” What Our Patients Say

“So, I started care at the Ventura Spine & Nerve Center. And, slowly but surely, I started getting better! The pain has lessened and lessened with treatment. It gave me hope again. “And now, I am completely pain-free! It’s an awesome feeling. Dr. Alff just told me to trust him, and I said, ‘Okay, I’ll give spinal decompression a shot. It’s either that or surgery.’ I had heard so many horror stories about spinal surgery, and I did not want to do that. “I was this close to having lower back surgery, but I gave Dr. Alff a shot at

“One day, I woke up and couldn’t move. I couldn’t bend, I couldn’t walk, and I couldn’t drive. I had shooting pain right in the middle of my lower back all the way down to my feet! I was in a lot of pain. I couldn’t cough, and I couldn’t sneeze; it was horrible. “Previously, a medical doctor told me I had four bulging discs, and I would need surgery. But then I met Dr. Alff and he told me, before I had surgery, to get some treatments with the DRX9000, which is a nonsurgical spinal decompression treatment.

You Don’t Need to Rely on Surgery Decompression Therapy

transferred from a standing position to a lying position on the comfortable bed, and the advanced computer system does the rest. Decompression therapy is completely painless — some patients even fall asleep while undergoing this treatment. The only sensation you may feel is a gentle pull and release as the machine works. Treatment time varies from person to person, but a typical session can be around 45 minutes and lasts 8–12 weeks with 20–30 sessions. Here at Ventura Spine & Nerve Center, we only accept cases we truly feel we can help with. If you’re experiencing chronic back or leg pain and want solutions, call our office today at (805) 648-7897 and ask how decompression therapy may work for you.

cushions between the vertebrae decrease and the discs are pushed closer together. This makes them rub against one another, which causes pain. Your pain might also be caused by a disc bulge or herniation. When this happens, the nerves in your spine are pinched, sending pain down the lower half of your body. Spinal decompression therapy allows nutrients back into your discs so your body can heal naturally. Through the use of a computer and special table, decompression therapy restores the spaces between the vertebrae and reduces the size of a disc bulge or herniation. The DRX9000 table pulls gently on your spine, which increases the space between the vertebrae and allows your intervertebral discs to expand. The process is quite simple. After being fitted with a system that supports your pelvis and shoulders, you are gently

If you suffer from chronic lower back pain or sciatica-induced leg pain, you’ve probably tried methods ranging from physical therapy to medication — and possibly even surgery — in an effort to find relief. But don’t despair just yet. Spinal decompression therapy may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Lower back pain and sciatica leg pain can be caused by the intervertebral discs in your spine. When these discs begin to deteriorate due to a lack of nutrients, the

It helps you feel relaxed and eases you into the Land of Nod. The flowery flavor isn’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for a natural sleep aid, it’s worth trying. When we look good, feel great, and our body is functioning well. WHAT IS THE PICTURE OF HEALTH?

But sometimes we may experience a condition or a symptom from our body. In our office, we refer to a symptom as a “body signal.” You see, your body is smart, and it will communicate with you via feelings and sensations. Since our mission is to educate everyone about what true health is, we teach you how to interpret those body signals so that you understand them. Because of that concept, we are holding a series of workshops every month, and we call them the Body Signals Workshops. Do you have a symptom or condition you want to get rid of? We can help you with natural solutions so you don’t have to face a lifetime of toxic mind-numbing medications, risky injections, or unnecessary surgeries.

Here’s the schedule for our March and April workshops, all being held in our office at 1590 E. Main Street, Ventura.
