SEVERAL CHARGES LAID DURING LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY
The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made several stops from February 25 to March 3, leading to charges being laid. On February 25, at about 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a commercial vehicle collision involving a dual trailer transport truck, which left the roadway and came to rest in the median along Highway 417 westbound, near the Limoges exit. There were no injuries. During their investigation, officers charged 48-year-old Ottawa driver Terrence McFadden with driving while under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Court of Justice in L›Orignal, Ontario, on April 4, 2019. The very next day, at about 4:30 p.m., an officer came across a two-vehicle collision on Laurier Street in Rockland. Following an investigation, a 17-year-old male from Rockland, driving a van, was charged with 4UBSUGSPNB1BSLFE1PTJUJPO/PUJO4BGFUZ under the Highway Traffic Act. On February 28, at 8:30 p.m., an officer was conducting stationary radar enforcement on County Road 17 in Rockland, which led to a 21-year-old man being charged with driving impaired and having control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available. Iskander Jallouli received a 90-day driver›s license suspen- sion and the vehicle was also impounded

Les pompiers de Clarence-Rockland ont reçu un appel tôt en matinée. « Nous estimons les dommages à tout près de 100 000 $, a expliqué le chef des pompiers Brian Wilson, 80 000 $ pour la grange et 20 000 $ pour son contenu. » Selon ce dernier, la grange, qui a été totalement détruite, n’aurait pas été occupée depuis un certain temps. The warning follows on recent reports of measles outbreaks in Western Canada and parts of the United States. The EOHU noted there have been no recent reports of measles in Eastern Ontario, but it is monitoring the situation and will advise of any incidents. The measles vaccine is available free of charge from local doctors and medical clinics. The EOHU also has vaccine available and staff will do vaccinations. Les pompiers de Clarence-Rockland ainsi que ceux de Limoges, ont été appelés sur les lieux d’un incendie, qui s’est déclaré vers 14 h, le 6 mars dernier, dans une maison du chemin Lavigne à Bourget. ESPRIT D’SHOW, LA MUSIQUE ÉPATE
Le 14 février dernier, les élèves de la troupe musicale ESPrit d’Show Musique de l’École secondaire catholique de Plantagenet, ont présenté leur spectacle annuel intitulé Promenade sur mars. Le spectacle a été présenté en trois volets. Tout d’abord, il a été présenté aux élèves de 4e , 5e et 6e années de toutes les écoles élémentaires de la région. La troupe musicale a ensuite présenté son spectacle aux gens de la communauté en soirée. C’était au tour des élèves de la 7e à la 12e année d’assister aux nombreuses prestations offertes par leurs collègues musiciens, musiciennes et chanteuses, dès le lendemain. —photo fournie

C’est ce que prône la municipalité d’Alfred-Plantagenet avec son programme d’aide pour l’achat de couches lavables. « La demande pour des couches lavables FTUMÆ BGBJUSFNBSRVFS.BSJBOOF-FEVD responsable des communications pour la municipalité. Les gens sont plus conscients de l’environnement. » Le programme existe depuis maintenant quelques années. Rappelons qu’une couche lavable a le potentiel de remplacer 230 couches jetables. En tout, cinq subventions sont disponibles aux résidents d’Alfred-Plantagenet. « Les subventions sont de 200 $ », a souligné .NF-FEVD6OFOGBOUVUJMJTFSBJUFOWJSPO 6000 couches jetables de la naissance jusqu’à la propreté, ce qui engendrerait une tonne de déchets par enfants. À l’occasion de la Journée internationale des femmes, la Coalition de Prescott-Russell pour éliminer la violence faite aux femmes organise un souper- spectacle, le lundi 18 mars prochain, à Hawkesbury, pour toutes les femmes de Prescott-Russell. La soirée commencera avec une conférence de Chantal Fleury, racontant l’histoire de son changement de carrière des sciences à l’humour. La vente est régie par la Loi de 2001 sur les municipalités et les Règles concernant les ventes pour non-paiement des impôts municipaux, étant sous le régime de cette Loi. L’adjudicataire retenu est tenu de payer le montant de son offre, les impôts accumulés et les droits de cession immobilière applicables. La municipalité n’est pas tenue d’offrir la libre possession à l’adjudicataire.
