Botetourt welcomes new principal

We are excited to welcome Ms. Tammy Krejcarek as the new principal of Botetourt Elementary School, effective July 1.

Thank you to our families and staff for your strong participation in the community survey. Your voice helped shape this decision. We also appreciate the teachers, support staff, and parent focus groups who shared their perspectives, as well as our hiring panel for their time, care, and thoughtful recommendation. This is a true community hire. Ms. Krejcarek brings more than 32 years of experience in public education, including service as a teacher, math specialist, assistant principal, and most recently as a principal. She is known for building strong relationships, supporting teachers, and maintaining a clear focus on student success. She is an advocate for every child and holds high expectations while helping students achieve their goals. GCPS Annual Asbestos Notification In Accordance with 40 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, Part 763), Asbestos-Containing Materials in Schools, this notice serves as the required annual notification to faculty/staff and community members of any and all changes in the status of asbestos in Gloucester County Public Schools. During the 2025-26 school year, the only scheduled asbestos removal projects were at Gloucester High. No projects took place at any of the other school buildings.

There are no planned asbestos removals for the 2026-27 school year at any school building.

The asbestos management plan is located in each school office and in the Gloucester County Public Schools’ Central Office located at 6099 TC Walker Rd. Questions may be directed to Dave Miller, Assoc. Director of Facilities and Construction, at 804-693-1207. Preschool Information Available

GCPS Preschool information for 2026-2027 is now available online!

Gloucester County Public Schools is committed to providing a high- quality educational experience for our earliest learners through a comprehensive early childhood program for children with disabilities aged 2-4, and for at-risk children aged 3-4. Visit our website to learn about the program. Then, complete the interest form to see if your child meets eligibility requirements for state funding, and to receive the application form. All families will need to have an accessible email address to submit your funding application and required documentation, and/or to receive any requests for additional information or updates.
