Review Medicare Summary Notices or Explanation of Benefits carefully for services, supplies, or equipment you did not receive. 3. Beware of “FREE” Services. Be wary of scammers offering "free" health screenings, genetic tests, or medical equipment in exchange for your Medicare number. 4. Identify Phony Callers/Agents. Medicare will never call you unexpectedly to ask for personal information. Hang up. Call 1-800- MEDICARE to verify information. 5. Report Suspicious Activity. Victim of fraud?
