FROM COAST TO COAST The initial rollout between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah is only the opening chapter of an aggressive expansion strategy. Etihad Rail has confirmed that the passenger network will eventually bind 11 cities and key hubs into a single, cohesive ecosystem. While Abu Dhabi serves as the starting point, 10 upcoming stations will soon change the national geography, connecting Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhafra, and the East coast. Rather than launching all at once, the rail system will roll out in phases over the coming months, giving commu- nities time to weave the railway into the fabric of daily life. Spanning the entire country, the railway’s footprint stretches from the edge of the desert in Al Sila to the rocky shores of Fujairah. By uniting inland agricultural towns, heavy industrial hubs, densely populated res- idential districts, and key growth corridors onto a single line, the operator is shrinking the physical and economic distance between the emirates.

التنفيذي لإمارة أبوظبي، محطة مدينة محمد بن زايد لقطارات الركاب في أبوظبي. واليــــــوم، يصل هذا الخط الرائد أبوظبي مباشــــــرة بمحطة الفجيرة على الســــــاحل الشرقي، مقدّمًا بديلا أسرع وأكثر استدامة للتنقل بين طرفَي الدولة. وبدل من النشغال بازدحام الطرق، أو مراقبة كاميرات السرعة، أو التخطيط للتزود بالوقود، بات في وســــــع المسافرين أن يستقروا في مقاعدهم، ويســــــترخوا، فيما تتعاقب أمام نوافذهم تضاريس الإمارات، بكل ما تختزنه من تنوع وجمال. عهد جديد من الترحال بالنسبة إلى جيل نشأ على الطرق السريعة المتعددة المسارات، واعتاد أن تكون السيارة محور التنقل والحياة اليومية، يمثّل قطار الركاب تحول يتجاوز كونه وســــــيلة للنقل، ليقدّم ثقافة جديدة للتنقل. فلطالما عُرفت دولة الإمارات ببنيتها التحتية المتطورة وشبكة طرقها التي تُعد من بين الأفضل عالميًا، غير أن القطار يطرح فلســــــفة مختلفة، تعيد إلى الرحلة معناها، وإلى السفر متعة التأمل التي غابت عن إيقاع الحياة المتسارع. وقد كشــــــفت الرحلة الفتتاحية بين أبوظبــــــي والفجيرة، منذ انطلاقها، كيف يمكن لهذا المشروع أن يعيد رسم إيقاع التنقل اليومي. فبابتعاده كليًا عن حركة المرور على الطرق الســــــريعة، يوفّر وســــــيلة أكثر انتظامًا وموثوقية، ويختصر زمن الرحلة من نحو ســــــاعتين ونصف إلى ســــــاعة وخمس وأربعين دقيقة.
